Hillary's "apology" was astonishing & bizarre...
Edited on Fri May-23-08 04:29 PM by marylanddem

In that she didn't mention or apologize to Barack Obama or address the whole ugly assassination issue but focused on any pain she had caused the Kennedy family for bringing up this "national trauma" ...It was NOT an apology at all. She needs to get herself out of this race NOW.

1. She did NOT aplogize. She says she only apoligizes *IF* it was offensive.
That means, if WE can PROVE it was offensive, then we can consider her as being sorry.

26. Exactly!
Anytime the 'if' is in the apology, the person is just trying to save face and isn't really sorry. She actually thinks that her apology needs to go to the Kennedy's more than to Obama. Did the Republican attack machine leave her with no soul or dignity after all these years?

She will benefit from the pundits on TV though. They are saying that she looked really pained in her apology, that she knew that she had did something very wrong. I think they're giving her too much credit for her 'apology'. Plus that idiot Wolfson actually defended her statement instead of just apologizing for it as well.

32. That it was bizarre will not matter if ... she will get out of the race.
If she will, all can be forgiven. If not, she will need to be shown the door.

41. She was at the same time focusing on the Kennedys and NOT Obama as possibly offended.
That's what's even MORE bizarre. She didn't give a shit about whether it might be taken as threatening (or hoping he dies) to Obama. She instead talked about being 'proud' to have Boobby's Senate seat and didn't intend to offend the Kenndy family.

She's a ghoul.

43. Well, first, put the talking point reference under the right response. That would help.
Second, your assumption that I have talking points from anyone is paranoid. Not everyone who disagrees with you is spouting talking points. Some people actually might have different opinions from you and different interpretations of a comment. Surprise! (Believe it or not, not everyone will agree with you and not all of the people who disagree with you are paid operatives of some evil organization. :) )

So, don't be daft. Understand that people can have different opinions from your own. And when you reach a level of maturity where you can accept that others might have a different opinion, then you might be able to actually discuss an issue instead of just lobbing impotent grenades.

But yes, she did certainly bring up the RFK assassination in a rather blase, matter-of-fact way come to think of it...

Teddy is dying as we speak. The great Hillary, who runs on the platform of being the most experienced, can't seem to quit saying offensive things. Things that a school child would understand are offensive.

She is downright cruel, and I don't buy the apology. I hope she gets the treatment she deserves for this behavior.

27. The translation of her "apology" sounds something like this:
"I am a sociopathic, heartless piece of shit who just attempted to justify staying in a race that I have clearly lost because someone will have to pick up the pieces should something awful befall my opponent in the form of an assassination. I said this because I wanted to attempt to sound both noble and relevant to the outcome of a race I have already lost. Because it seems I offended some people with this mark, and offending people really makes my poll numbers take a dive, I have decided to apologize in the hopes that people will now let this issue slide. After all, if after I apologize the media continues to harp on me, then I can prove once and for all how very sexist they are."

She just pretended it was only about the Kennedys. The worst part of it was the thought something could happen to Obama, and she didn't even say anything about him in her apology.
