She knows it's over now
Edited on Fri May-23-08 06:33 PM by MattBaggins
She was broadcasting it loud and clear during her "apology". She could not once make eye contact with the reporters questioning her, nor with any of the cameras. She looked mainly at the floor, eyes darting around, with an underlying sense of dread. The whole aura she projected was of someone who knew they just blew it.

The nomination, the VP slot, gone, all just slipped away. I am probably one of the few Obama supporters here who realized how much we needed her to win this and would have willingly supported her for VP. She blew it today with an off the cuff comment that will turn that crack in our party into a full blown chasm.

No more of this crap of "Obama has to reach out to me. He has to earn my vote". This one is on Hillary's camp to heal.

3. All I can say is I am now done. I am now one of those selfish people that
I talked down about on the other side. I won't vote for her ever.

12. I think there is an Aesop's fable about the troubles you wish on others coming home to roost.
Have to look it up.

10. I need a pause perhaps
I do not by any means take pleasure with all these stupid things she has done. I do not want to "defeat" her. I still like Bill Clinton and voted for her as my Senator. Even up until PA I had posted threads and made comments suggesting that change comes about by working "with" people not against them. I was willing to set aside the "3am" campaign and try to mend the fences with a combined ticket.

What the hell is she thinking? She burnt the last bridge she had with the "hard working whites" dog whistle comment and now she's pissing on the ashes. I think anyone that believes we can ignore her camp and win this GE without her is crazy; but that moron, daily makes a monumental task nearly impossible.

I just wonder how she intends to undo the damage she has done to this party.

13. I wish that were true
Even without her as a VP nominee we will get nowhere unless she throws her full support behind Obama. I have exactly zero desire to do it without her camp if we could pull it off anyway. I have many friends and coworkers who support her and they are all good people. We need to work with her supporters no matter how much people may dislike her. The problem of course is she isn't helping at all.

9. I saw the "apology" interview this afternoon. She had that sick
look on her face that, to me, showed that she clearly realized she had finally, after all this, "screwed the pooch". I think he assassination remark was a calculated ploy that backfired.
