What Hillary can do to Redeem herself
It's over for her after this as far as the nomination or a VP spot. But as a human being who if she sincerly made a mistake this is what she needs to do.

Tommorow, she needs to call both Senator Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy and apologize for using RFK's assasination as a reason to stay in the race. She than needs to call both Michelle and Barack Obama and apologize for bringing up assasination.

She than needs to make a statement and a real apology to the American people and publicly apologize that her comments were offensive and not in the spirit of what her and her husband have worked for all their lives.

If she does this. I and I suspect many Obama supporters will be willing to forgive.

She'll use the outrage to continue with her "I'm a victim...everybody's always picking on me" campaign.

Just watch her.

17. Self-righteous jerk. Hillary owes no apology to Obama--he should apologize for
Edited on Fri May-23-08 09:13 PM by StevieM
his spokesman's comments. She owes no apology to the American people, she was in NO WAY talking about Obama being assasinated. And RFK's family are owed an apology by those using his death to smear HRC.

The idiocy of this moment will be long forgotten in a couple of years when Hillary is elected Senate Majority leader and Obama is trying to live down the humiliation of his 48-state defeat.

She owes us all an apology.

26. RFK Jr. has said that he doesn't want an apology--so you don't get one either. And I think it is
very reasonable to assume that HRC will be Majority leader--most of her collegues announced for Obama after he became the presumed nominee. And I think she'll look pretty good on Election Night when Obama loses in a landslide and the exit polls show that she would have won.

she did nothing wrong because honestly if I read it right she did not but maybe you can point out what exactly in your opinion she said that was so wrong because the way I read it was at most a tad tacky considering the timing with Teds cancer news just happening but thats all it was in my opinion.
Mind you I said ozark is only half right, I dont agree with the whole thing he said about obama as for the most part he is playing it clean, not perfectly clean but on the whole its a pretty clean campaign.

...that the person that was assassinated was a Carpet Bagger NY Senator who won the CA primary and that he doesn't expect it to go to the convention?

If not, you'd be a hypocrite. If he said that, I'd be as outraged as I am with Clinton.

39. I think it is way too late for her to walk away gracefully,
She is rather bush-like in terms of defending her errors rather than admitting she was mistaken. An apology, therefore, is unlikely.

She should just walk away, maintain a low profile for awhile, and perhaps some may forgive her. I don't think I will ever respect her again.

57. It was a wishy washy suggestion
No offense, I know you're trying to suggest a graceful way out of this.

But apologies to x and y just won't cut it at this point. She's always apologizing too late, but this was for something that is just so unacceptable that your suggested apologies would just sound like spin control. They have to be accompanied by her dropping out.
She should truly feel ashamed at this point. When you feel shame, you don't feel like telling everyone that you should still be president.
