...he would become unelectable.

But in the end, it was she who made the mistake.

She should have know that after Huckabee's "joke" and Teddy's diagnosis that any future reference to Bobby's assassination would be strictly off-limits.

But she had gotten away with it before and simply misjudged that the political environment had changed.

She played with fire and got burned for breaking the final, FINAL rule.

Overall, Rachel speaks for me on this one.

Fittingly, perhaps, the "kitchen sink strategy" meets its final end about 650 miles from The Little Bighorn monument in Montana. The site of another famous ill-fated "last stand".

4. The Clintons have played WEDGE politics since 1989 ... and have not received much press on it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oRwZQLdhEw

Listen to Randall Robinson in this video, read below about Rwanda. Only one conclusion is possible: A clinton legacy of lynching.

Adherence to the rule of law is not something normally associated with the Clintons. Moreover, racial and ethnic disrespect, intimidation, exploitation and hate have always been a fundamental Clinton tactic and the reflexive use the "N"-word and other racial and ethnic slurs, an essential element in the Clinton lexicon.

When the "first black president" and his wife ran Arkansas, the NAACP sued them for intimidating black voters at the polls.

Conversely, the clintons' refinement of the "DNC drag and drop" is, arguably, one of the more insidious and repugnant applications of their special brand of race-hate politics.

6. Exactly - I have been thinking since I heard those comments
that Hillary has been standing by breathlessly waiting for her so-called novice opponent to make a major faux pas and disqualify himself from the competition. So closely has she watched his steps, she neglected to watch her own, and in that process, fell into a dark, bottomless political pit. Will she ever be able to climb out?

So much for "experience" ....

Sam

9. It wasn't a mistake, and it is disgusting.
Why would it be a mistake? She has made these comments before, as we now discover. Her comments today were cold, calculated and intentional. Her comments would be irresponsible, only if they weren't intentional. She might as well have painted the target on Obama's back and handed the gun to the shooter.

Rachel Maddow has it right.

20. I'm with you on this...
I actually decided to sleep on it before making my final judgement.

You're right it is disgusting.

Even though I don't believe she wants or even hopes something awful happens to Obama, she's more than willing to use the fear of it happening as some sort of superdelegate strategy. And that is disgusting.

There are some dogwhistles you don't blow.

21. seems more like a character question to me
Apparently Hillary has talked about RFK in June'68 at least 3 times. Like the repeated sniper stories, it was only a matter of time before it caught up with her.

The decision to discuss assassination was in poor taste at best. Planning (hoping ?) to become the president based on this kind of tragedy is sick. I don't think she really wants Obama dead, he's just in her way. It's blind ambition and I don't trust this kind of person.

sort of a President Stillson moment.
(Martin Sheen's character in the 1993 Dead Zone movie)

15. Hillary MISJUDGED -- AGAIN?
Anyone get that?

Do we want someone who MISJUDGES so often and in such MAJOR ways to be President?

Everyone makes mistakes and misjudgements sometimes.

But Hillary? Hers are constant and HUGE.

I'm sorry, but all her experience is worthless if she does not have the judgement and temperment to lead and obviously she does not.
