Is tonight the beginning of the end for the Democratic Leadership Council?
Yes, I know Hillary's comments about the RFK assassination have no direct bearing on the other members of the DLC, but what about what the DLC stands for in terms of the party overall?

4. I'd like to hear the DU experts weigh in - I've been wondering the same
thing for a while.

How is it looked upon by other Dems -- anybody know? Do they think they're all DINOs like we do?

17. Speaking of Dinos....

DiFi wants Hillary to be Obama's running mate. This could be their last chance for the DLC establishment to maintain some control in the White House.

5. I think the beginning of the end was a couple of months ago.
It's been a slow change though.

6. It's the final chapter, hopefully.
The DLC is the Clintons, and the Clintons are the DLC. "What A Party!"

7. I hope so because it is an abomination of the Republican party and not...
the Democratic party.

9. Howard Dean's Chairmanship as well as the 2006 elections
Were the beginning of the end. Hopefully Obama's nomination will be the death blow.

10. today's NY post ironically
featured (in an article discussing the "dream ticket") a quote from the Vice Chair of the DLC saying that Obama should pick Clinton as his VP if he wins the nomination, because "She would make a good president if anything were to ever happen to him". I wish I were kidding.

It's funny, it's amusing, and nobody gets hurt. :hi:

13. The Democratic party will follow the money. The DLC was created because of money .........
and fund raising ability. Obama has shown that candidates can raise vast sums of monies without going hat in hand to the uber-rich and cowing to the elite.

14. I won't vote for a DLC member for any office
It's a difficult task though as the DLC no longer posts it's membership roster. If anyone has a current list of DLC members please post it here on DU.

16. Make no mistake about this
what you are seeing is a tectonic shift. What you are seeing is a shift in the power structure of the party and HOPEFULLY a shift to the LEFT

That is what this country needs
