Clinton campaign owes Indiana University $55K
As an alumna and grad student that has to pay very high tuition, I find Hillary's disdain for paying her bills (some dating back to New Hampshire) to be another red flag of how she will manage the nation's resources were she to get to the White House.

Obama pays his bills!

Clinton campaign owes IU $55K

Updated: May 23, 2008 11:18 PM EDT

Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign owes IU nearly $55,000 from an April visit.

A Chelsea Clinton appearance at IU has yet to be paid for.

Richard Essex/Eyewitness News

Indianapolis - Indiana University says it may have to tap into reserve funds to cover a campaign visit by Hillary Clinton.

The New York senator and Democratic presidential candidate owes IU $55,000 from a stop at Assembly Hall. Her opponent, Senator Barack Obama, held a similar rally there, but his campaign paid up their nearly $100,000 bill.

The bills started to add up when the candidate's daughter Chelsea appeared on her mother's behalf at the Indiana University auditorium at a cost of $3,000. That was followed by two more events.

"The total for all three events was $55,000 and we have not been paid yet," said IU spokesman Larry MacIntyre.

The other two events were held in Assembly Hall, a much larger - and more expensive - venue to entice voters.

1. Class of '06 here
Not cool, and it really reflects poorly on the campaign. And IU isn't the only school to go unpaid.

2. I think she owes Pennsylvania universities money too.
This is sad and ridiculous. They need to give IU their money and all of the other universities and park districts and public school districts.

7. Some of her creditors are small businesses that need to be paid
Add the Hillary is a deadbeat to the other adjectives that describe her and her losing campaign!

8. If she is going to be $30 mil in debt.....
What's an extra $47,000 (adding up what she owes the schools)?? Pay the damn bill, save yourself the embarrassment you will suffer from later.

5. Who the hell does she think she is by not paying these people?
I don't want her as VP when she can't even pay back a college.
