13. Other versions available upon request.
I originally had Clark. Webb would also work. But I think there's chemistry with Biden that will produce sound policy in many areas.

So many candidates are good where they are too.

I like Biden too. I think my top three picks are Webb, Biden and Richardson.

6. At least Biden's a Democrat. I hope it's not too much to expect
a Democrat for VP. I've never voted for a Republican in my life, and I never will, even if it's part of the Democratic ticket.

20. The Hagel talk is silly, IMO.
Unless it's a feint from Axelrod to throw off the right; then it's part of a brilliant strategy.

Let the Republicans be one impeachment away from the White House? I would not dangle that in front of them, even if they don't control congress right now. So yes, the VP MUST be a Democrat.

And we are blessed with many good choices right now.

9. question
It seems like so many Senators, from Webb to Biden, are obviously great friends of McCain, and respect him. Watching Morning Joe yesterday, I felt badly for Joe Biden when he paused and said "This is hard for me. I've known John for 30 years", but he was still able to put out a pretty kick ass defense of Obama. I guess my question is: would it be better to have a VP choice for Obama who is a friend of McCains, to make it clear that they respect McCain but his policies are absurd (to neutralize that bogus "Obama disrespects McCain!" theme that McCain is desperate to push), or will that impair the VP choice's ability to be a true "attack dog"? I noticed that Webb had kind of backed off on his earlier attacks on McCain for the GI bill on Countdown the other night, and said something like "McCain is a friend, I'm sure that if I could just sit him down and talk to him about the bill, he would support it. He is extremely busy right now"(yeah, busy fundraising in California..). Thoughts?

10. Good questions.
I believe the insight into McCain's thinking that Biden must have by now would be an asset to Obama when formulating strategy. The same could be said for Webb. I like Biden's confrontational style when presented with BS, so I see him as a good attack dog.

I only wish he would finish a sentence more often. :) When he makes his point, it's good!

12. I agree, good points.
I can't watch videos on my computer, so I am forced to watch shows like Morning Joe (I hate the hosts and I complain about them non-stop, but it's my own fault for watching) for the guests like Biden. I can't wait until we have a nominee and the democratic party can come out in full force against McCain's sell out bullshit.

22. that is one of the main reasons I wanted Biden - had a feeling it would be McCain
and Biden can take him on on the issues - because he KNOWS McCain's political history personally. And I thought on a civil Biden - McCain debate, Biden wins on the issues.

And he's younger and cuter and has a more normal wife. :)

27. Epiphany! : How about alternating terms?
Barack will take the first term, Joe the next two maybe (due to age) then Barack in 2020. I've been reading "team of rivals," The lincoln bio, and in Illinois the leading politicians alternated terms in the Senate. Of course, back then Senators used to physically fight in the Senate (Charles Sumner was bludgeoned with a cane by a southerner), so I don't know if this could fly today...

38. definitly needs to be considered
biden was unquestionably the most experienced of them all
when hillary started using qualification by experience i went wtf?
i think biden is happier where he is tho
he swings a lot of clout in the senate
and he hasnt wasted his political capital
i would want him in the senate to propel my agenda if i was the nominee
and to advise me

42. I wondered about that.
Biden would make a great president, and he knows it. :) I think the thought of a straight-line ascendancy to the White House would appeal to him, but whether it is worth four or eight years of being "never heard from again" is another question. He is definitely good in the Senate where he is, and our margins are not as comfortable there as I'd like. Still, it is a hell of a ticket, with Biden giving gravitas and impeccable foreign policy cred. It would diminish any advantage that McCain's service would give.
