I don't know if I will be here after Obama is declared the winner. Understand, I would walk a mile in tight shoes to vote for Obama, but I believe that each American voter has the honor and the responsibility to make their own choice and not just take whatever candidate has a (D) in front of their name.

I understand that only one political opinion, voting for Obama, will be allowed after the primary is declared over. I'm not known for keeping my opinion to myself, so I may just take a little vacation for a few months, and come back later.

I really love this forum and its posters, and would rather leave on my own and keep the option open for returning than be TSed because I can't keep my big mouth shut.

I said I was leaving last night (really early this morning) but then learned to use the ignore list. If my return is the one that has upset you. Sorry about that. Not being sarcastic when I say that.

Update: my plan to leave was due to having been called a sexist two hundred (slight exaggeration) in a dicussion (not really one) and not coming to any real meeting of the minds, and the stress it put me under that caused me a minor health problem. It was really all my fault, because I should know not to become caught up in such discussions. Thus I learned to use the ingore function. ;)

I was refering to and I wasn't really upset. Just goofing on it 'cause there was this whole drama scene with flounce and all the trimmings.

are obviously not one of them. I enjoy reasonable discussion and different points of view. I was upset yesterday to have to put one person in particular on ignore who I had always found to be fun to debate with.

I'm hoping that in a day or two things will calm down.

I will be in and out again after a 2 1/2 year hiatus.

It's just the ol' standard I'm leaving so someone beg me to stay message forums hissy fits. Some of these unnamed weight loss message forums have it going on all the time? Being begged to stay is what they're fishing for. The hissy fit is used to excuse it.

If people don't want to come on a message forum, no one is going to stop them?

When you alienate HRC supporters to the point where they leave, you also risk losing their support on election day. I keep trying to get this message home to you guys, but thinking strategically doesn't seem to be your thing.

If you identify as Obama supporters and you abuse everyone who isn't, then you create resentment in those you abuse. That resentment can translate into many things.

Cause and effect.

And yes, I am a member of the reality-based community.

I suspect that a poster predisposed to one candidate or the other would be more attentive to the remarks of posters of the opposing candidate. That's human nature.

There have also been supporters on both sides who are able to stay above the fray.

This is the primaries, and this primary is an especially contentious one, and GD-P certainly isn't for the faint-of-heart.

For the record, I like both candidates, and will vote for whomever is our nominee.

I just don't get how someone who posts on a message board can influence how another person will vote. :shrug:

this is so funny. Regardless if they come back or not, it is a reflection of how they feel about this place. They are disgusted and disappointed in many of the participants here.

Just yesterday I read posts that stated things like....

Clinton wants Obama assassinated...
Clinton is scum...
Fuck Hillary
Hillary's a bitch
Hillary should watch out cuz she may be the one taken out.
Hillary doesn't want Obama assassinated, she wants him lynched.

I could go on and on.

How people who call themselves Democrats can treat someone who has carried the Dem banner for so many years under the most difficult of circumstances is completely beyond me.

And just to make it clear...I don't support either Obama or Clinton. I think that they are both political poison for the Dems in November.

Having said that, what I read here from many of the Obama supporters reminds me of little school children. You have eliminated any doubt as to your maturity level.

And gee...I actually wanted an adult to be President...I must have been crazy.
