some fun facts: dailykos vs. hillaryis44
I don't know how to get the data from this site, maybe the Admin can do it if they are so inclined, but this is pretty much what I expected:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/5/24/163437/416/562/522170

There has been a lot of talk lately about some Hillary supporters who will actively or passively work against Obama if/when he gets the nomination. One place where these supporters seem to hang out is www.hillaryis44.com

So I decided to compare the userbase of dailykos and hillaryis44 in an attempt to see how widespread this viewpoint is. I have downloaded 100,000 recent posts by users of both sites and looked at the userbase associated with those posts.

IAmNobody's diary :: ::

The dailykos first:
The 100,000 posts were written my 8389 unique users, with the most prolific user posting 813 times.
The top 20 posters have posted almost 8% of the total and the top 550 users posted half of all the posts. 1219 users are "regulars", where regulars are defined as having posted 20+ times, the regulars have posted 68% of all posts..

Now for hillaryis44:
The 100,000 posts were written by 310 users. That is NOT a typo. Three hundred and ten users wrote all 100,000 posts.
The most prolific user posted 7170 times. The top 20 users have posted 45% off all posts and 24 users have posted half of all posts. 171 users are "regulars", where regulars are defined as having posted 20+ times, the regulars have posted more than 99% of all posts.

The top poster on dailykos with 813 posts would be no higher than 63rd on the list at hillaryis44.

I've noticed the same pattern here, but I still found the general math interesting, and maybe you do to.

And I wonder if some are posting under several names to increase the look and feel of a groundswell?

15. morons at Hillaryis44 accuse Obama of not campaiging in PR, guess where Obama IS today
in Puerto Rico.

That Hillaryis44 must be run by some right wingers.

That site is worse than Free Republic.
If that's possible.

Morons at Hillary is 44:

"Obama, aided and abetted by the ill disguised infomercials on NBC/MSNBC is adding Puerto Rico to the 46 state strategy - joining Florida, Michigan, West Virginia and Kentucky - as voters that don’t count. Obama is busy insulting Puerto Rico by not campaigning there.

Then the truth here:

Obama, in Puerto Rico, Pledges Wider Aid for Veterans (Update1)

By Kim Chipman

May 24 (Bloomberg) -- Barack Obama, campaigning today in Puerto Rico, pledged to improve health care and other assistance for the more than 150,000 military veterans living in the U.S. territory.

``You have my assurance, veterans here in Puerto Rico will be treated the same as veterans everywhere else,'' said Obama, a U.S. senator from Illinois and the frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination. ``We will make sure facilities are up to standard.''

Just kidding - I know the trip had to be planned in advance. Anyway, I was glad to see he was warmly welcomed, and I especially liked the assurances he gave to the Puerto Rican veterans. That was cool.

20. Its all about influencing the Super Delegates
This finally hit me, when the mass media kept pointing out that so many of Senator Clinton's supporters said they would not vote for Senator Obama.. or would even actively campaign against him for Senator McCain..putting the Supreme Court in the mix and Roe v Wade..they are trying to influence the Super Delegates.. the supporters for Senator Obama for the most part will vote the democratic ticket.. so if you were a super delegate, and saw that one group was more willing to turn out than another it might seem to influence the decicison..

Of course this is completely faulty thinking IF that is the case.. and a small number of people yelling fire in the theater as it were.. make a lot of noise.. so this maybe more smoke and mirrors by a few activists than the sentiments and loyalties of good democrats who happen to support Senator Clinton.. though I would think after a few battles I have witnessed.. people are taking their anger at each other out on the candidates.

32. Exactly, I think you are right
it seems so.. if they appear to be the majority..then they have much more power than their numbers would allow.. i could see a few people deciding to try and sway a group by using that type of tactic.. again, it would be pretty effective

29. You're reading too much into it
You don't influence any superdelegates with their hysteria and drama queen talk. And if that was their aim, they are a miserable failure at it.

No, it is a lot simpler than that. Some people are just assholes. And when you get a bunch of assholes together, you end up with sites like hillaryis44 and freerepublic.

30. That is why I said it would not be effective
but I believe some people think that way..certainly not the majority by a long shot.. but it does not take many to try and cower a large group..

36. the strategy would appear effective , but not be in reality
the candidate, is just a temporary head and leader.. the party politic and programs are what in the end what is the most important thing.. and most of us of either side, no matter how passionate we are will support the party platform in the end..

35. That site is infected ...here are some priceless gems from there:
Edited on Sat May-24-08 07:10 PM by Doityourself
All posted May 22 by various users:

1. "If Bambi, descendant of slave owners, is wrongly nominated by the Dem elites, we will all bear a tremendous responsibility to make sure he is not elected in November. We owe this to our party and our country.

Few know better than we just how dangerous, divisive and blatantly dishonest Barack and his Brownshirts are. It is up to us to help educate the masses and to both help fight off and educate a pliant, ‘white-guilt’-susceptible, pseudo-intellectual MSM. "

2. " Ted Kennedy is a man that cares not for anything that women have to offer. He has shown his chavinist ways his whole life. He uses women! I also think he wants to strip the Clintons of their power and in doing so he will tear the DNC all the way down to nothing. He only cares about his legacy and now we know what that will be Ted. You will be responsible for the demise of the democratic pary!!"

3. "Re: Convention in Denver; if you go into the site, it shows police tactics and all kinds of violent stuff, they must of gotten Ayers to help with all of it. As for myself I do not negotiate with terrorists, we will take it to the convention what ever happens!!"

4. "your right it will be another black eye for the dems, but its not the real dems organizing this. This sect is a maxist black liberation that is trying to take over the DNC. Obama’s campaign has said there is someone in his staff that is planning the DNC takeover as we speak. Not sure where I read it, maybe USATODAY, maybe!"

5. "On a side note, scumbag Kennedy wants his Senate seat given to his wife after he dies…"

6. "It’s time to start seriously laying the groundwork for the “Swiftboating” of Obama. The only difference is that Obama deserves to have these truths about him come out, whereas the material presented on Kerry was questionable (the whole ‘is he a ‘fake’ war hero?’ stuff).

Obama really is backed by domestic terrorists; he really did campaign for — and lend his likeness to the efforts of — a cousin in Kenya whose supporters killed hundreds of people after his election loss; he really was close with communist mentor Frank Marshall Davis.

7. " I am a Democrat, have always been a Democrat and have never either worked for or voted for a GOP candidate. Obama, and his disgusting, race-baiting campaign and his cult supporters, have changed all of that. It is now time to both vote for and help get elected a GOP candidate. If Bambi is nominated. This is bigger than parties."

8. "I think we come out of this with more than nothing, as I will leave the Democratic party and start working on Women’s rights as an Independant. I will also vote for McCain. "

that you have listed are democrats in the sense of moving the party forward.. that type of post smacks of dirty tricks to me.. I am of that age that remembers Atwater the mentor of sorts of Rove.. I would bet dollar to doughnuts that many of the movers and shakers who post in that site are operatives for the RNC or Limbaugh etc.... I am sure there are some people there passionate for their candidate..but if they step back and read what is said, and take a breath they have to realize that someone is getting gamed..

Who the hell has time to post 7170 tirates in an election season? I don't know how long that site has been up, but if we assume one year, that would be an average of 19.6 posts per day.

Either this is the only thing some of these people do in their spare time, or they are on someones payroll.
