DU, and GD-P, are NOT worse than FreeRepublic.
Don't believe me? Go over there and start a thread on woman's rights and abortion. Start a thread on gay rights, or human rights in general. Start a thread on voter caging. Start a thread on racism. Start a thread on Kennedy or Hillary or Barack or Dean or ANY Democrat. Start a thread on the war in Iraq. Start a thread on poverty.

You get the idea...

Yes, GD-P can be a very nasty place. And no, the left is far from perfect on many issues. But worse than FR? Please, get a grip. Or better yet, go spend a few days there and get back to us on how much better they are when it comes to any liberal Democratic values.

4. It's a sign that some people are bitter over how the campaign has played out.
More than anything.

Personally, I don't think DU has lost it's focus at all. I still see tons of great things here on numerous issues that I don't see elsewhere. :shrug:

Having said that, DU is still a frillion times better than FR.

9. Went there once right after I joined DU to see what all the fuss was about.

8. I agree, GDP exists for the Primary "food fights" to keep the
emotional outbursts from all Primary candidates' supporters in one location. There was great unhappiness with GDP during the 04 Primary as well until the Democratic nominee was chosen. Shortly after that happened, the forum changed to GDE and the focus turned to bush and the repubs. The same will happen again, of that I am sure.

17. I can't do that because I was banned
but DU is a much more hostile place than FR, even when I was thee only person there defending Clinton against the republican impeachment offensive of the late 90's on that site. I get much more abuse from individuals at DU than I ever got from the right wing crazies at FR (right up until Rim-Job banned me).
