++ About these early polls: Anyone here remember Rudy Giuliani?++
Oh Rudy, how we miss you!

Rudy was riding high in the polls at one point before reality set in. That reality usually sets in the last two months before an election. This is when people really start paying attention to the candidates and their messages.

So to my fellow DUers, don't get sucked in to polls six months out whether they favor your candidate or not.

4. Give McCain time. He seems to be the kind of guy ...
that would do anything to become President.

of the crazy actor who I can't think of right now's character in underseige so I guess there is hope.

3. Ol' Rudy was cursed with many negatives, most of his own making.
Edited on Mon May-26-08 04:43 PM by Old Crusoe
His popularity declined correspondent to the number of appearances he made. The more voters heard the man speak the less they wanted him in higher office.

Long ago a Democrat. Then a Republican. Next a bash-the-car-windshield-cleaners Authoritarian. Eventually the "hero" Mayor of 9/11 -- essentially a thug with a bullhorn -- and finally the most thick-skulled dumbass to ever adopt a presidential primary strategy.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

He died a swift, hard death out on the campaign trail.
