Poll question: Forget Who You're For - Who Would You Like To See Obama or Hillary Model Their Presidency After?
IF you could pick one president, Republican, Democrat or other, who you'd like to see either Obama or Hillary model their presidency after, who would it be?

I'll give you a list of choices, you can choose one of them or pick your own.

What I mean by the question is, in terms of tone, efficiency, ideals, vision, ect - what president do you want them to emulate.

2. not necessarily
FDR would seem to be an obvious choice, but a lot of people think he overstepped his boundaries and reached too far in his presidency. Some might prefer a president who doesn't set his goals as high as FDR did, for fear of looking like a failure if he doesn't meet them.

3. Not surprised to see so many choosing FDR. We are facing crises as great as he faced.

9. Times are bad, but let's calm down down a bit
We're not in a Depression or WWII. Taken from a historical and psychological position there is no comparison.

5. Not sure. The circumstances we face really don't correspond . . .
To what the other presidents you list face. Peak oil, global warming, American in disrepute, a polico-social divide internally, the whole country in hock to other nations . . . it's going to require a unique response.

I guess I'd want Eishowers's steadiness, Kennedy's charisma, LBJ's clout, Carter's compassion, Reagan's (ick) calming influence, FDR's will, Bill Clinton's political skills, and Lincoln's brains.

6. I think FDR is the BEST, but right now I think we need a JFK
someone with record breaking approval ratings to remind us all again that we're one nation, and that we rock utterly, and that we show we rock utterly by making positive contributions to the world and our citizens.

I think Obama fits the mold well.

I'm ready to be proud of m President again.

11. Martin Sheen is my President
I used to have a bumper sticker on my car! In 2000, my plan was to remain drunk for 4 years and watch the West Wing and convince myself that it was reality.

Eventually I sobered up.
