Kerry and Edwards Focus on the Economy- This is what the voters want
I would rather see the Kerry campaign, or any candidate for that matter, focus on things that really matter in our lives, like the economy, rather that respond to every snarky one-liner that the morons throw at him.

Here's their plan for the rest of the week:

News Advisory:

As their post-convention, cross-country "Believe in America" tour wraps up Friday, Democratic nominees John Kerry and John Edwards will continue their two week focus on building a stronger economy with separate "Front Porch" events in Oregon and Michigan.

Completing his two-week journey across the United States, Kerry will meet with a family in Oregon to discuss the Kerry-Edwards plan to help middle-class families squeezed by the Bush economy, particularly by skyrocketing energy prices. Kerry will then wrap up the "Believe in America" tour with a final rally in Portland.

Edwards, campaigning in Michigan, will visit a neighborhood in Flint to talk about the Kerry-Edwards plan to build an economy that works for all Americans.

Kerry Highlights Economic Plan to Create Jobs, Cut Taxes, Strengthen the Middle Class; Kicks Off Two Week 'A Stronger America Begins at Home: The Path to Prosperity'

CARSON, Calif., Aug. 12 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Kicking off a two week focus on building a stronger economy and creating new jobs with a speech in Carson, CA, Democratic Presidential nominee John Kerry outlined the Kerry-Edwards economic plan to strengthen the middle class and help all families get ahead. With a plan that will grow the economy but not the deficit, Kerry and Edwards will create good paying jobs in America, instead of shipping jobs overseas, and offer tax relief that works for middle-class families and small businesses.

Kerry, who is nearing the end of his post-convention "Believe in America" tour, recounted the stories he has heard from hardworking families on his two-week journey across America and said it is time they have an economy that works for them - a theme Kerry, John Edwards and their supporters will focus on for the next two weeks.

"While millions are struggling to find work, and millions more are struggling to pay the bills, these folks hold on to an optimism that is both courageous and classically American," Kerry said. "They know we can do better. They know our best days lie ahead. And they still believe in an America where a willingness to work hard is rewarded with the opportunity to earn a decent living and the chance to get ahead. John Edwards and I think it's time we built an economy that honors those values. And we think it's time the American people had a government that lives by them."

As he discussed today, Kerry and Edwards are proposing more than $400 billion of new tax cuts -- more than twice the tax relief of George W. Bush.

1. This is what voters want and need the candidates to focus on
I hope that Kerry will continue to make issues that concern our lives the centerpiece of his campaign.

2. Be careful with tax numbers.
You dont know what period of time they are refering to. It could be anywhere from1 year to 4 years to 8 years. And if its that latter then it will be easy to claim having "more than Bush" because Bush's cuts expire in 2010 and thats 2 years where Bush's cauts will be exploding if they are renewed.

Bush had to sunset them in 2010 as a gimmick to make the budget seem "balanced" for eternity , where as 2010 was the last year that the (and we are talking about the "surplus" days)cuts wouldnt eat a large enough hole in the budget plus his pollsters told him that the public didnt want cuts abve $1.6 trillion (lol like the public knows the diference)and the Democratic congress (mainly Senate)demanded that over a certian period (10 years)the cuts dont exceed $1.6 trillion or they might not vote for it.

All out of touch b.s. all around. On all sides.

Some things will probabilly never change.
