Since Bush is following Kerry all over the country
Imagine the news event if Kerry delayed or made a U-turn and crashed one of Bush's appearances.

Just think! He walks through the crowd (no doubt it would part and create a path) and up the steps waving to Bush, shakes his hand, and says "Let's talk about the issues".

*sigh* Well it was a good fantasy anyway.

1. A great fantasy!
But Kerry would never sign a pledge of support for B* and therefore couldn't crash one of georgie's events.

2. Not a fantasy, a great strategy
If the crowd boo-ed or jostled Kerry, the Republicans would look sick.

This is just exactly the unscripted event that would throw Bush completely off-stride. The media would have a field day and the Rove machine wouldn't be able to spin it.

I see it as a win-win for Kerry. Bush can only lose in such a real (non-structured) debate. What is it with modern politicians that they can't just stand side by side on a stage and debate. If Lincoln and Douglas could do it for hours on end and for day after day, surely our modern day politicians (some of them anyway) could do a modest version thereof.

3. I can hope!
I agree with you, but in campaign terms I suppose it's just not a realistic thing to happen. *sigh*

Kerry would certainly make history with doing it though!

5. Goodie! More news!
See what a field day Kerry would have with this? Oh, the number of media hours would make the Dean scream look like a blip!

6. People complained about Kerry & Edwards being too close. With Bush...
...stalking Kerry like this, it makes you think Kerry might want to get a Temporary Restraining Order...especially if he starts to get phone calls traced back to AF1 from a heavy breather.
