I think MSNBC's Michelle Bernard is fantastic!

I think she and Rachel Maddow deserve a show of their own!

"I hate to disagree with the RNC on this, but I must..." In reference to them attacking Obama over the concentration camp thing. I've never heard her openly admit she's republican, until then.

I believe that everyone is an individual. However, you must admit that although NOW has historically done many good deeds, SOME of their more recent history is more anti-men then it is promoting equality between men and women.

Do you think Gloria Steinem views gender issues fairly without prejudice?

57. Chris Matthews has more than a little crush on her. Every time she says something he
agrees with he will say that makes so much sense or he'll compliment her intellect or do something more out of character than that.

He is constantly asking her whether she is sure she's a Republican too. He has been on her about her support of Obama the entire time.

It is actually very sweet.

I look forward to hearing what he has to say to her when they are on because it is so much nicer than he treats everyone else.

is that she is real smart too. FOX has plenty of good looking women. But most of them are bimbos. You will NEVER see me starting a thread complimenting them! Bernard is the total package.

By the way, I have also pointed out in several posts that I view Rachel Maddow as the best political commentator on TV. I love the way she b*tch slaps Morning Joe around. And of course I would NEVER have a chance with her.

36. Do you think a woman....

with visual characteristics similar to John McCain could get elected? I am an Obama supporter. But I do wonder how different the Democratic Primary would have been if Clinton looked like Sebelious. Or if Clinton could match Obama when it comes to the eye test.

I think there was even a thread here about a week ago highlighting that Sebelious's resume is really no better than Governor Napolitano's or Senator McCaskill's. But she is slimmer and more attractive. Thus, anytime a woman VP is mentioned, she vaults to the top of the list.

It's sad but true. Looks matter.

I need to be honest. If another political pundit had made the exact same points as Michelle Bernard this political season, but didn't look like her, this thread wouldn't be here.

61. I actually think Hillary is on the attractive side - especially for her
age. Her personality unfortunately has made her less attractive in many people's eyes. Sebelious has sort of an "Annie Oakley" thing going for her right now - I'm not sure where that came from but it seems to work for her.

To answer your question - probably not in the near future. Looks do matter - just not to me so much. Unfortunately for a woman to succeed in something like politics - you would need to be relatively attractive for people just to pay attention. Especially to the multitudes who are obsessed with Hollywood and "glam".

I was actually surprised that "pretty boy Romney" didn't do better than he did.

I never really thought Obama was that attractive until I learned more about him and then he became more attractive by the day.

14. She makes more sense than most Republicans on MSNBC
Tweety was asking her about being a conservative last week, and she said it's because she's Jamaican, and its part of their culture to believe that the government can't solve people's problems. Still, she's been saying more and more things that I disagree with lately, like that weird race riots comment. Oh well.

Is Amy Stoddard a Republican? If so, she's another one that makes sense to me more of the time than the others. And the expression that she has on her face always makes me laugh, like "I've got better places to be". I miss Tucker Carlson's show. As in, I miss him being confined to one hour of tv where I knew when to avoid him, instead of having him pop up all over the place on Morning Joe, Hardball, and Dan Abrams on the same day.

it marginalizes his support. I only saw her original comment from a couple of weeks ago when she said "If Hillary takes this away from Barack Obama, there will be race riots in the street!" Um, there would be rioting from a lot more people! Though I do understand her point in that African Americans are consistently loyal democrats, and I fucking hate the idea of throwing a loyal constituency away in favor of fucking swing voters when someone should be the nominee based on pre-established party rules. Lol. I didn't hear her put it into context (the last time she said it, it was at the end of a segment and Chris Matthews said "Oh, that's going on youtube!"), so I haven't heard it fully explained by her yet.

64. One day the media and the pundits will wake up and realize...

That millions of whites are voting for Obama too!

If the black vote was strong enough to elect a president, Jesse Jackson would have won back in 1988.

It takes a coalition of black, hispanic and white voters for a democrat to win. That's what makes our party special. We are the party of inclusion.

And one other note... When Bill Clinton ran in 1992 and 1996 he had more than 90% of the black vote. And yet he was considered the President of the United States... not the President of black people only.

She had a funny moment with Pat Buchanan the other day. He schooled me! The next story is about Victoria's Secret, I'm gonna school you on THAT one, Pat!" She comes across as extremely bright yet is able to be playful.
