Questions for Hillary Supporters
Edited on Thu May-29-08 06:35 PM by Jake3463
How many offices do you have open in swing states right now like Ohio,PA,MI,WI,CO,etc?

How many meetings are you having locally with volunteer teams to discuss strategy for the General Election?

How many new voters have you registered in the last two weeks?

How does sending people to protest the DNC in Washington help us defeat John McCain or increase our senate and house majority or get new democratic govenors and state legislatures elected?

Answer me these questions logically and I might support what your doing.

Obama is unelectable is not an acceptable answer.

Do you have any answers?

Obama is only saying positive things about Hillary while she trashes Obama. So don't talk to me about Hillary wanting unity.

10. There's not really too many real reasons
1. They think McCain would be a better president and better for the country than Obama

2. They love the war Hillary voted for, they love high gas prices, they love high food prices, they love seeing jobs sent overseas, and want four more years of the same.

3. They're hard working whites or women (even black women?) who won't vote for a man or black man.

4. Somebody said something mean about Hillary so the hell with the rest of the country, let's help elect McCain.

Am I missing anything?

14. If the Obama machine is so very acitve preparing to win in
November and bring so many victors with him, while at the same time contesting Hillary for the nomination then her continued campaign is harmless. Just an opportunity for him to administer over an organization, experience he sorely needs.

If he is not able to build the machine of which you speak, while at the same time handling a political advdersary, then he is not presidential material. Better we find out now.

Why are Obama supporters so afraid to continue the debate. You'd think it you were so comfortable with your candidate you would be happy to give him the stage.

There is no more debate.

BTW you didn't answer one of the questions I asked.

How does marching on the DNC help the party in November. Not just the Presidential race the entire party.

16. Then quit and go home.
The problem with so many Obama supporters is that they are children raised in fast food, drive-up window world. You seem to be the sort of person who puts a full meal in a microwave and then complains about the 90 seconds it takes to heat. Obama is certainly the first candidate of the Ridalin generation.

Slow your roll little one. The grown-ups are still having a converstation.

17. So you have no answers
Edited on Thu May-29-08 06:57 PM by Jake3463
All you can do is pretend to be an "enlightened grown-up"

You totally avoid what the purpose of the protest is or what Hillary is doing right now to help democrats in November. You are misdirecting and not answering the questions I asked.

I'm a student of History. I know what a convention fight does to a candidates chances in the GE.

After 1960 no convention fight has led to a President.

24. You seem to suggest that Sen Clinton and her supporters may
have a hand in wether or not Sen Obama is elected in November. That seems at odds with so many posts I've read on this forum that claim that supporters of Sen Clinton are unnecessary and even a detriment to "the cause of change."

How can Clinton supporters be so important when your thread is begun by enumerating the huge numbers of voters that Obama has registered, as well as the number of local, state and federal office holder who will have St. Obama for the offices that they will hold when the masses turn out for your candidate.

But to answer whgat seems to be the core question- What good will a protest in November serve?

If the many millions of voters that have supported Sen Clinton and her ideas are stifled at the Convention and we are told that we will have no effect and no say within the party that we have worked for decades to build, then protest is our only option and our duty.

You seem to think that defeating McCain is the only goal. If that were the case and you felt that a floor fight would ensure a McCain victory, then you would consider as an option, withdrawing Obama's nomination to avoid a fight and defeat McCain. This is not about issues or the future to you. This is about the cult of Obama and your shared arrogance.

Speaking for myself, I believe that Sen Clinton is best qualified and between the three choices, she would be the best of all. If at the end of the day an Obama presidency is inevitable, I believe that Obama presidency could be a positive change made better by his willing to include many of the ideas, issues and influence of Sen Clinton and more then 17 million democrats. If you are saying that my only choice is to sit down, shut up and allow a Pres. Obama take this country in a murky direction without the opinions and ideas of so large a portion of our party represented, then you are wrong about that.

I owe it to my country, my family, myself and all those who have come before me to raise my voice and raise hell if necessary. It is not only our right, but our duty to raise our voices and be heard. It will be even more important to do so wether it is Pres. Clinton, President Obama or pres. McCain. To sit down and shut up is what the GOP faithful did for the last 8 years and that is what has gotten us where we are today.

27. I disagree with your reason for the protest
and think it is destructive but I will respect it because its the first honest answer you've given me.

Senator Clinton is a US senator and if she doesn't like something President Obama is doing she has her seat in the US Senate to express her outrage from.

22. you are funny...
the Obama campaign put Hillary in the position she is in..she lost. Organization is one of his most valuable assets, which is why he has won. Did you not read about his success in Chicago in 1992? And what is it you want to "debate"? Visions of what Hillary hopes the Catastrophic Event will be? How do those hopes benefit the presumptive nominee, and the Democratic Party? Is that how one gets elected to office now? Premonitions that the sky will open, the light will come down, a thunder bolt will strike Hillary's opponent, and hand her the Presidency?

21. I'm not a "people person" so I don't know what groups are forming where.
Everyone I've talked to has already registered or doesn't give a sh*t, just like in 2004.

People have the right to protest whatever they want.

By the way, Obama is unelectable. :)

23. I can protest alot of things
Edited on Thu May-29-08 07:13 PM by Jake3463
However the question is it constructive to protest your own party in an election year where the stakes are a 3rd term of Bush.

The protest does not only poison the well against Obama it does it to all democratic candidates.

We are holding drives and getting new voters! Not everyone is registered!

Your broke the electability rule :-)

25. I have a different opinion of the protest.
My opinion is that most people aren't paying attention, unless the MSM wants to make an issue of it. Also, I'm sure Axelrod/Gibbs will find a way to spin it positively for Obama.

Most people I've spoken to are, in fact, registered. Whether they will actually vote or not, come November, is another issue.

I break a lot of rules, it's my nature. No snarky comebacks allowed. :)
