The importance of appearing presidential
Like most people here I would love to see Kerry rip Bush a new asshole and leave him begging for mercy.

That's why I was firmly planted in Dean's camp before the primaries.

But I also understand that in order to become President of the United States, one has to appear presidential. Voters have to look at you and see an aura of strength, maturity and leadership. Kerry is starting to do that. You can sense people starting to get comfortable with the idea of Kerry in the White House. It's working.

Nobody, however, looks presidential rolling around in the gutter trading punches. Every time Bush or Cheney do it they diminish themselves in the eyes of voters.

So as much as I'd like to see Kerry open up on Bush, he really is doing what he needs to do to win.

The folks who should be opening up on Bush are the 527s. Since I live in a red state, I never get to see any ads unless they are on cable. Have the 527s been real active on the airwaves in other states?

1. If only we could clone James Carville
Everyone remembers how Lieberman showed too much respect for Cheney in the 2000 debates. Edwards is going to have to be a lot tougher.

2. Apparently Lieberman thinks Cheney is just peachy
To go by his campaigning, his problem is all the Democrats and the administration is doing all the right things. Edwards isn't going to think that.

4. They should also force Cheney to stand
He was too comfy sitting for two hours. Let's see him on his feet if he can stay up that long.

3. Edwards will look like
Sunbeams and rainbows standing next to the evil overlord.

5. Edwards vs. Cheney...
...is like Luke Skywalker vs. Darth Vader.
