C,mon Kerry! Listen to General Patton!
Edited on Sat Aug-14-04 01:48 PM by brentspeak
No dumb bastard ever won a campaign by allowing himself to be steamrolled over; he wins the campaign by steamrolling the OTHER dumb bastard into the ground! Drive the stake into HIS heart! Make BUSH do the explaining! Put BUSH on the defensive! Make BUSH look like the mealy-mouth!

When you see freepers heckling you during your rallies, you'll know what to do.

You'll say, "I see we have the peanut gallery, here. But that's quite allright with me; ALL Americans are welcome at MY rallies. I'm not afraid, and never will be afraid, to confront opposition. But President Bush doesn't have the same philosophy as me. He prefers to have prescreened, friendly, vetted audiences orchestrated and waiting for him at his carefully coordinated speeches.

Americans, listen to me! No president has ever - EVER! - been an effective, fearless leader for his country when he is TOO AFRAID TO SPEAK TO HIS FELLOW AMERICANS FACE-TO-FACE!"

That is all.

1. Oh, yeah!
After all the quivering worrywart posts about how Kerry is 'blowing it,' I finally read something I agree with. Kerry really should KILL those bastard on the closed door rally/leadership idea.

What is * afraid of? Everyone likes him, right?

2. How many Kerry rallys have you attended lately?
Edited on Sat Aug-14-04 01:54 PM by bigtree
These crowds are large and enthusiastic and the local coverage in these key states is extensive and priceless. Kerry's message about the economy and Bush's faiure to do anything about it resonates in these areas where joblessness is rampant.

edit; reread

3. The point is to make Bush's cowardice a headline issue
And to start a pattern of no-holds-barred campaigning that will ruthlessly, constantly, mercilessly, put Bush on the defensive, to give him a taste of his own medicine, to cement into the public's mind what kind of "leader" Bush is, to make it a lead story when the evening news comes on, to make it resonate to voters other than the ones that Kerry might be speaking to at his rallies.

We can't deal gently with this foe.

7. instead of the economy?
the issue that most voters are concerned with? Bush's largest vulnerability? And instead focus on Bushlies? Isn't that the republican strategy? To draw our campaign off balance?

I think that by not diverting and spending any time on this Kerry has been able to stay on message with his economic appeal. That's what the voters have indicated is their most urgent concern.

5. Patton wouldn't have lasted five minutes in politics

Kerry is pounding on the issues. That's what's important (results matter, remember?) not throwing out all the crap about *'s service in the NG, or whether or not he used drugs or any of the other crap that only titillates people and takes the focus off what matters - that our country has been led into a quagmire by a man who's not fit to run a sewage plant (apologies to any out there who run sewage plants).

Same with defending against those attacks - like the Swift Boat Veterans For Slander - make it clear that they're untrue then move on - to dwell on them only makes you look like you're worried about them.
