What are all the Dem Strategists doing about the"Alston never served story

This deserves rapid response but we don't have any facts to counter it. Is "help on the way" or not? Everyone seems to be acting as though the swift boat thing would "blow over or self implode or backfire, but this has legs! Any advice?

The freepers claim the photo isn't from the time Kerry was in command. They have a report stating Alston had head wounds on January 29th, the day before Kerry took command. Alston's wounds aren't visible. Alston was wounded in the back of the head. The picture is from the front of Alston.

Much of this is based on the assumption that Alston never returned to service after being wounded the day before Kerry took command. They have no proof he didn't. This is a typical right wing "we make up lies and its up to you to disprove them" kind of story.

This all seems to come from one guy, who calls himself The Bandit, who claims to have documents I can't find on the web anywhere. "The Bandit" doesn't seem to have a great sense of logic either. The story is really spreading though.

So what if (huge if and I don't believe it) Alston wasn't on the boat. According to the swiftvet ad, he still served with Kerry, and he opinion is as valid as the rest of the swiftys (at least according to their rules).
