Thank you, Howard Dean!
"The Democratic wing of the Democratic Party"--meaning, of course, IN ALL 50 STATES!

Populist!

Rake 'em out, man! Shine the flashlight!

2. I am hopeful that the back of the DLC has been broken today.
I find it alarming that so many Hillary supporters
have everything exactly backwards.

Their candidate was a DLC leader, her funding
was from corporations, and yet they are decrying
the "end of democracy" because the CORPORATE CANDIDATE
lost the Democratic primary.

She voted to authorize this MURDEROUS war in Iraq,
when the majority of our representatives in D.C.
were smart enough to vote against it.

Her crazed supporters think that the democratic
"base" has been ground down. The BASE has finally
been heard!

Individual DONORS and VOTERS have lifted us
ABOVE the party "good ole' boys".

3. I wouldn't go quite that far.
;-)

But there is a shift occurring, and it's apparently significant enough that the right wing has been more than a little involved with the Clinton campaign.

were piling on Dean. But, he stood his ground and it only helped that he had the facts on his side.

OT, but, I haven't seen Cap'n Sunshine for awhile and he's always there for Dean and Obama..we've had such a road and a few victories along the way and so much further to go.

29. The part that I thought was the heart of his statement...
...was that Dean recounted his conversation with Al Gore when Dean dropped out for '04. I had heard about part of that conversation before, how Gore had reminded Dean that the party, the country was larger than Dean.

But today when Dean told the story, he said how for twenty minutes he ranted to Gore "tell me why I should love this party after what they have done to me..." Simply jaw dropping. Dean revealed his deepest thoughts, his rawest emotions---then he spoke of Al Gore's wise words.

My respect for Dr Dean continues to grow. :loveya:

Edit to add~ Dean, is a true person and look at far we've come because of him and his biting the bullet at that time when it looked like he didn't have a good reason to back his party.

Sage advice for Dean, Al Gore.

12. Talk about a guy whose had a rough few months.

I doubt he'll ever get the credit he's due for the number of people he brought to the party in 2004, and his decision to work in all 50 states.

He remains the only politician to whom I've ever given money. And it was after he became the DNC chairman. I forget why I did it, but people were calling for his head a few years ago. He was completely in the right, and it was just political posturing by somebody. So I sent the DNC money with a thank you note.

I don't donate to Democrats that will spend it to fight off other Democrats. I will donate to the candidate that is up against McCain. I don't have much, but I will figure out what the limit is and send it in. We can't have another 4 years of the Bush presidency. The first year would be pardons, Iran, Syria and more pardons.

55. He already HAS the credit.
In the hearts of the informed populace.

Not from those who will benefit in a personal
way, from patronage or graft; but from those
of us who have the best interests of the
NATION at heart, for it's PEOPLES' sake.

He will never go hungry or cold, I would
take him in, as would THOUSANDS of others
who appreciate what he has done.

The DNC's incompetence and lack of tact in handling the disputed primaries is what caused the events to drag out for this long. Dean in the end was barely able to clean up the mess he created. I can't wait for Obama to replace this nutjob.

41. Dean did not create this mess
State representatives who did not want to follow the rules created this mess. Didn't both candidates agree to the rules months ago? Howard Dean is smart, has the courage to do what's right, and is the best thing to happen to our party and our country in a long time. I hope the voters in Florida and Michigan hold their representatives accountable for this mess when they're up for re-election.

45. Thank You, Dr. Dean!
And Thank You, janx for starting this thread.

I'm an "old timer" - over 60yo white female - and I think it's the "old timers" who have been the Democratic

Party leaders who are so set in their ways that they don't understand and appreciate what Howard Dean has

accomplished with his 50 state strategy.

The results began to show in 2006 and will be even more obvious in November, 2008 - especially with Obama

buying into it and working it himself.

Someone on a previous thread suggested that now would be the time to send Dr. Dean some "love" in the form

of contibutions to the DNC. It would also be nice if this thread grows and grows and could be forwarded

to him??
