No offense to Puerto Rico, but when its primary is playing a role in this process, democracy may have actually gone too far.

I think I liked it better when six or seven guys determined who the nominee was going to be. And the funny thing was: we won elections back hen doing it that way.

Ever since we changed the process in '68 and '72, we've won three elections - and only one of those involved a candidate winning a true two-man race. And in any other year, he would have lost as well.

1. Perot had nothing to do with Clinton's victories
exit polls and research show that Perot voters would have gone equally for Bush and Clinton.
Just thought you should know.

that many folks still debate that assessment. Perot drew approximately equal numbers of Bush/Clinton supporters in national polls but the regional and state breakdowns varied. I could not care less myself but the state by state effect of Perot is not so simple as you suggest.

2. It seems that's what Hillary wants with having the superdelegates pick the nominee.
The primary voters chose a nominee and Obama deserves the same chance to be declared the presumptive nominee early that Bill Clinton, Gore and Kerry all had.

3. Letting Puerto Rico is another example of Dems playing flag football when it's a tackle game.

4. By the way, under the old system, Hillary is probably the clear-cut nominee
And I'm kind of fine with that.

(What I'm not particularly fine with is her pushing the old rules in the middle of a primary season based on the new rules).
