that the Obama campaign would get it out there right away and speak about it rather than wait for a bombshell. They are a politically smart bunch and know that if there was some kind of tape that was going to be leaked (and I'm sure they have all heard the same rumors we have) that they would get it out there upfront and not wait for somebody to play it. They would be on the offensive now rather than on the defensive later. I think this is just a bunch of right wing FAUX news propaganda.

... but they also know they can get some miles out of it as a chew toy. They are trying to build a belief and expectation that there IS such a tape. This will go on until MSM picks it up and starts asking "is there such a tape?" At that point, they'll use the tape, and the immediate response and outcry will be that she obviously said "Why'd he" not "whitey."

But that doesn't stop the seed from being planted. The seed is "white people, those blacks call you 'whitey' and you know it!" It's a bogus reason to get the word WHITEY in the minds of the public.

Silence is so 2004. I believe Michelle ought to address it obliquely, by talking about race with candor and good humor in a friendly interview. Cut it off now, without directly mentioning any tape.

The rumor's too juicy for it not to leak out, especially with news organizations willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars for the tape.

All they need is a few minutes of their speech and they can make anyone say anything. Bottom line is don't believe anything you hear and consider the source.

thing is Michelle is really not in the age group that would have ever used that term. That term is something people in my age group are very familiar with because it's from the 60's. We used it a lot back then. You didn't hear it much after that except maybe in a few comedian's stand-up routines. The story is meant to trigger the resentment in a certain group of people....over 50 and white who don't like Barack.

I remember a Francine Busby rally 2 years ago here in San Diego, where a right-wing mole entered the audience and audiotaped a comment she made where she completely misspoke (addressing a right-wing Mexican plant who asked what undocumented "illegal aliens" could do for the party: "You don't need papers to vote"). She of course immediately caught herself and retracted the statement. But it didn't do any good - by the next day every one of the right-wing talk show hosts here were deriding her because they were given copies of the audiotape. She never received a copy. She just had to sit back and try to defend herself in the press, noting that none of the right-wing commentators acknowledged that she retracted the blooper.

But no one paid any attention to her after the tape was released to those stations. The damage was already done. From that point on, all her opponent had to do to win was lambast "illegal aliens".

I sure as hell hope there is no such tape of Michelle Obama. If there is, I'm sure the RNC is holding it back to kill Obama with in the GE.
