Operation Chaos Theory
I have been giving this a lot of thought over the last couple of weeks because I cannot wrap my head around Democratic women being willing to throw hard won rights away, voting for someone only because she is a woman or demonstrating a terrible stereotype about women being so self absorbed we cannot see past our own vanity that we put our personal preference for a candidate before what is best for our country. I am sure there are some women like that, but the number is very small.

I think what has come in to play is Operation Chaos. It’s funny to me that we haven't seen any organized group of women from the Limbaugh crowd (that I have heard of anyway) protesting that Hillary belongs home baking cookies or any other "typical" conservative nonsense. It all ads up when you have someone like Anne (gag) Coulter who has said previously women should not have the right to even vote. You would think she would be lead pitch fork bearer on a woman running for President! But instead she is a Hillary supporter (interesting). Couple that with big Hillary fan Pat Buchanan and then Limbaugh promoting Operation Chaos and I think it’s really all there. Especially when for years this same group of people has been saying that Hillary is their DREAM candidate because she will unite the Republican Party.

Operation Chaos would be enough people to skew polls of Hillary supporters saying they won’t support Obama in November, and provide enough cross over votes for some of the closer primary races. Plus they got the added bonus of being able to express and hide their racism in the Democratic Party as rabid Hillary supporters who scream something like Barak is an "inadequate black man" (not sure if that is the exact wording).

Let’s face it; Hillary does not want women to lose the right to choose, or any of the other terrible things that will happen if McCain gets in. And anyone who really supports Hillary or knows her record would feel the same way. True Hillary supporters are going to work like hell to get a Democrat in the Whitehouse because they are intelligent people just like most Democrats are.

Do I think there are some bitter and disappointed Hillary supporters right now, yes I do. It is very disappointing for someone you believe in strongly to lose. I was heartbroken when John Edwards dropped out. But do I think the true Hillary supporters will unite with the party in November? Absolutely I do.

I think we need to recognize what we are seeing. I think most people have a gut feeling about who the real Democrats are. If you are going to vote for McCain then you aren’t a Democrat. There is nothing anyone on a message board can do to stop you.

I suggest that we recognize the Operation Chaos Agents for what they are and refuse to respond to the blatantly inflammatory posts. The people who personally attack Barak and his family are only doing it for a reaction. You aren’t going to make them mad by responding but they are getting a lot of entertainment from reading your responses.

Just my opinion, take it for what its worth.

I am glad this is almost over!

1. Wikileaks got a memo that agrees with you.
MEMORANDUM

To: *******
From: S. Schmidt
Date: May 15, 2008
Subject: Clinton Strategy

According to both internal polling and exit polls by independent news
organizations, the Democratic Party is becoming increasingly polarized along
certain segments of its base. The recent result in West Virginia, while generally
unsurprising and definitely unlikely to cause any real shift in the race,
highlights the growing bitterness between certain supporters of Clinton and
the Obama camp in general. This unique situation has created an opening that
could help depress the turnout of key Democratic demographics in November.
The specific group we are targeting is a cross-section of white, female voters
over the age of 40. Internal polling reveals that this group is the most likely to
support John McCain after Obama wins the nomination. However, we expect
Obama’s numbers to improve following Clinton’s drop. Our job is to make sure
that number stays as low as possible.

Our limited financial resources and the media’s attention on the Democratic
race, however, prevent us from reaching this group. Our aim is to point out
specific issues that we believe resonate well:

1. Sen. Obama’s connection to Rev. Wright
2. His inexperience
3. His links to the corrupt Chicago political machine

However, we cannot fully achieve this goal without a greater commitment on
the part of McCain’s fundraisers and our various media partners. In lieu of
that, we have developed a number of inexpensive ways to reach this audience.
We have already worked to reinforce the Clinton campaign’s narrative about
the unfair treatment that some networks, specifically MSNBC, have given her
camp. We are also planning to unroll a new campaign to highlight Obama’s
experience deficit.

Simultaneously, our team has been testing new lines of attack through
independent pro-Clinton communities on the Internet. Our hope is that our
message here will spread by word-of-mouth. Our local community organizing
has also been successful. We have organized dozens of “meet-ups” across the
country for Clinton supporters, and we have used that time to stress the
importance of punishing the DNC for choosing the undemocratically selected
far-left Obama. At the moment, this is nothing more than a headache for the
Obama campaign. With a greater commitment on your part, I hope to see it
metastasize into something much more.

Let me know if you need more detail.
-S

23. Well they got one point correct....
MSNBC certainly has been in Obama's camp and has been unfair to Hillary in doing so. It is very
poor journalism to take sides in a race while promoting their impartiality.

Slings and arrows makes me a quiver.

4. Operation Chaos has been a success for Rush. You're right.
You're right about the way the Rushbos have warped our perceptions. I believe many of the so called Hillary extremists are in fact Rushbo types. They never intended to vote for Hillary in the fall. They tilted Texas and Indiana for sure, and probably others.

5. Yes, knocking on doors for Obama, every Hillary supporter I talk to says they will vote Obama in the
GE if he's the nominee.

Our phone bankers sometimes talk to people who flat out tell them they are voting Hillary for Operation Chaos.

So i think you are basically correct. Democrats are going to vote for Democrats, either in the primary or in the GE.

26. Is it that Dems are too trusting?
I guess we beleive people are supporters just because they say they are. Do you ever think Dems would pull the same kind of stunt? I don't want to act like we own the moral high ground or anything but I can't see a Democrat doing something like that.

36. Those people who just play games are tiring. The other factor in this election is that
Sen Clinton kept trying to make the case that she was the more electable, so the interests of her surrogates and the Operation Chaos folks somewhat dovetailed.

6. I don't know why women would be upset with the Democratic Party
after all, Hillary came in a close second and won a lot of states. I doubt that would happen in the Republican party with Condi. If Hillary had run a slightly better campaign perhaps things would be different but the bottom line is she did very well in our party.

17. She did
it proves that we really have come a long way. After all 20 years ago a woman running for President was a joke. Hillary being taken seriously was a huge step for women in this country!

19. Operation Chaos is easy
I picture someone sitting at a desk with buttons in front of him, labeled: RACISM, SEXISM, GAY BASHING, and so many others, pushing one button after another and watching us be played. We are making it easy for them.
Meanwhile McCain is being propped up as a viable candidate, with baggage bigger than all the candidates combined.

Democrats and feminists who have openly stated they will vote for McCain if Hillary doesn't get the nomination. They may consider themselves Democrats and feminists, but I won't bother typing what I consider them.

22. They may be extremely hurt and angry right now
that Hillary lost. And they may feel that she has not been treated fairly, but if they are feminists they are far too intelligent to vote for McCain. They will vote for the Democrat, because the alternative is too horrible to consider.

As if that is anymore believable coming from a feminist democrat.
