Obama is praising Clinton
As well he should. It is far classier than anything that has oozed out of this forum this evening.

I think he would be embarrassed and disgusted by most of his supporters on here.

1. Obama has to
Hillary's speech tonight, justified every bad thing ever said about her. Shameful

4. As much as we should be 'embarrassed and disgusted'
by Clinton's lack of grace.

Seriously ZW, if she had the class to concede, instead of laying down the vieled threat of taking it to the convention, instead of trying to leverage her postition to squeeze into the VP slot, you'd see Obama people falling all over themselves to praise her wisdom.

But no... she has to take the low road, and the scorn that goes with it.

SHE is the cause of the criticism that is so rightfully heaped upon her. Make no mistake about that.

5. The old addage "we reap what we sow" aptly applies to her
Unbelievable, even though I halfway expected it. Somehow, I still thought that she would think of the country and the party above her own petty interests.

from the podium left me speechless.

9. My particular favorite is telling her people to go to her website and tell her what to do
Then she took us to the precipice of saying "unite" and said she wasn't going to make a decision tonight.

I couldn't believe it.

I have always been a far classier poster than you. You have never posted one redeeming thread or post in your DU history. My record isn't perfect, but it beats the living hell out of yours.

It's just too damn funny that the likes of you, all snark and no substance, takes pointless jabs at me.

10. He's the winner, he's reaching out like a great man
He's awesome. He's not groveling or anything like it. He congratulated Hillary on 2nd place, and he even praised our last democratic president a time or two.

Those of you who are trying by your jerkiness to get people not to vote for Obama, you can't do it. He's too great, too inspiring, we all want to vote for him despite his few worst supporters here. Obama owns everything.

He will be 44, and there's nothing the clowns can do to stop it. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!

15. He has consistently said from the inception of his campaign
He wants to be President of all the American people - not only all Democrats, all races, all classes of people, regardless of origin or heritage or political persuasion - all Americans. I believed him the first time I heard him say this, and I believe him today.

Sam

Edited on Tue Jun-03-08 11:00 PM by ZombyWoof
It's just fucking bat guano insane.

That being said, I think the rabid supporters on BOTH sides are assholes, but I called out Obama's most histrionic contingent because of their liberal (pun intended) use of the C and B words to describe Clinton.

I could go on all week about her flaws, and I think she should concede just like everyone else... but jesus, the vitriol and melodrama is just a bit too much. Democracy isn't a game of entitlement. No one owed anybody anything tonight. I offer my congratulations to Senator Obama along with the rest of us, but no one owes him anything, not even Clinton.

So yeah, not reading this forum closely is highly recommended.

24. Indeed ...

This place is a train wreck at the moment. 'Course, sadly, one could hardly be expected to assume anything different would have taken place tonight.

I've said many times that, as someone who supported neither of these two candidates in the beginning, I've had a really hard time getting behind either, mostly because of their supporters. The edge, in the end (and after I voted in my primary) leaned toward Obama merely because Hillary herself has been more shrill than he has been. But linger doubts about him based on knowledge of his early political career and some of his supporters have kept me from being very vocal about it. Plus, not being fired up about either, I've not really been all that hot to jump into the fray that this place has been about it. Not worth it to me.

I'm looking forward to turning the attention to bashing McCain now. I'll get more fired up then.

29. I have not been a supporter
Now that he is the nominee, I will support him, and I want him to kick McVain's ass into next St. Swithin's Day.

But no, I have been very skeptical of Senator Obama for reasons I have elaborated on in the recent past, but now lay aside for our party, and most importantly, our country.

(You can look at my journal for more specifics on my views of Obama) :hi: :loveya: back!
