Did Charlie Gibson & George Stephanopolous sabotage Obama AGAIN??
Source: ABC TV

charlie Gibson & George Stephanopolous covering Obama's speech tonight for ABC TV News.

No link yet.

Ok folks - so I'm forced to watch the Obama speech tonight on ABC TV since I'm somewhere that does not have
cable tonight and right as Obama starts to TEAR JOHN MCCAIN A NEW ONE - Gibson starts talking over him and
engages Stephanopolous in conversation.

This to me seemed so blatanly biased.. They never cut back to Obama and meanwhile they segue to the portion of McCain's speech critical of Barack

Did any fellow DUers catch this??

Your thoughts????

1. Disney has given the ABC staff its orders. Same as with the ambush/flag pin debate.
Just stop watching them.

2. I'm certain it was on purpose. They know the content of the speech beforehand.
Fuck ABC. I'm so sick of them.

3. Yeah I saw that.
As soon as he started ripping into the Iraq war the eunuchs started giggling and then presto, cut to Hillary!

4. Just as Obama was about to explain how McCain...
...isn't really a maverick, but caved to support policies like Bush's this year, Charlie Gibson & George Stephanopolous talked over Obama and broke away from the speech.

God forbid the public should learn that the McCain-maverick myth of the Washington press corp is bullshit.

5. We don't watch ABC at all any more
It's not on our 'favorites' list of channels, either.

18. Yeah - good advice... however tonight I was somewhat of a captive audience
now I know what happens when you don't have cable choices.

The TV I had to watch only had rabbit ears and so I pretty much could only choose between CBS, NBC and ABC.

6. Criticism of McCain which ABC didn't show.
Based on the prepared speech:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x6256900

ABC showed Obama saying:

Because while John McCain can legitimately tout moments of independence from his party in the past, such independence has not been the hallmark of his presidential campaign.

But ABC broke away before:

It's not change when John McCain decided to stand with George Bush ninety-five percent of the time, as he did in the Senate last year.

It's not change when he offers four more years of Bush economic policies that have failed to create well-paying jobs, or insure our workers, or help Americans afford the skyrocketing cost of college - policies that have lowered the real incomes of the average American family, widened the gap between Wall Street and Main Street, and left our children with a mountain of debt.

And it's not change when he promises to continue a policy in Iraq that asks everything of our brave men and women in uniform and nothing of Iraqi politicians - a policy where all we look for are reasons to stay in Iraq, while we spend billions of dollars a month on a war that isn't making the American people any safer.

7. Tom Brokaw seems senile, repeating that Obama had the "easiest speech to give."
He must have lost his fucking mind. That speech was fucking historic.

10. YES YES YES - the swift boating has begun - in all the media
I was watching MSNBC, and Matthews asked some stupid question like "How can Obama prove he loves his country", really that was the question! What an utterly ridiculous question, Brian Williams then launched into a big lonngggg story about McBush's military adventures, implying that this is the only proof intense enough to matter. On Obama first big night, and Williams is telling stories about McBush....

I just wanted to yell at the TV, Matthews and Williams should explain to US how they love this country, with the smearing happening already, the media oil war, the lack of coverage on vote caging, the AG scandals, they should be ashamed of themselves.

15. I never have understood the whole "I served in the military"
aspect of politicians, by that I mean how does it make them better or more able to lead by throwing a uniform on than someone who did not serve.
After all regardless they are still human and I know for a fact that the military has atleast as many assholes in it as the civilian population does as they still lie, cheat, steal and have drunks, in fact my own father was one of those assholes with his drinking.

16. I haven't watched since the infamous debate. Moreover...
I haven't gone to their site either, except by accident when I click on a news link before reading the source.
