In-Fighting and Clinton/Obama Supporters
I see that the "Stickies" have gone from the top of GD - P so I suspect that Skinner may be ready to announce the week of grace. In this week people will vent and long term hatreds will be cemented - but new long term friendships will be begun. But here are a few things Clinton and Obama supporters should realise.

With the GE now firmly in play DU must begin to function as a team and encourage all Democratic activists to become part of the Democratic Presidential team. Being in this team obviously means that team players are needed so perhaps Obama and Clinton supporters need to be reminded of a few things.

Obama supporters have to realise that some people do not "get" Obama, they will be willing to campaign for his victory but they will still find plenty to dislike about his campaign. This is not bad because you need cynics to keep you on the straight and narrow - a chorus of "yes men" is what Republicans want, constructive criticism is what democrats (small and large D) need. Another thing, do not expect Clinton supporters to "apologise" for their support, they have nothing to apologise for; like Obama supporters they were doing their best for their candidate.

Clinton supporters, please get over it; your candidate lost a beauty contest so do not expect to be "woo'ed" for your support. If you want to be on the team be part of the team, do not expect apologies and do not endlessly quote flawed arguments or old Clinton talking points because that is not being a team player, that is being a drama queen. If you really feel that you cannot be part of the Democratic team go off and join one of the "stop Obama" sites but do not expect people to mourn your going or to try and dissuade you.

Now those who are going should go, those who are triumphalist expect close attention from the Mods and Democratic Party supporters get working

2. As a relatively new person here, I have to ask...

Are the posts here official policy, or are they the posters' impressions of official policy?

I'm not saying they sound that far off base... But they do sound like they're laying down the law.

I was wondering whether they really are the law or whether they're just interpretations of what the law might be by people who have been here longer.

5. Depends on which posts you mean

We did have some stickied posts at the top which defined rules for the primary but those are gone so I'd assume someone thinks the primary is over.

As far as the week grace period that's official, sort of. Skinner runs the place and in http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=6259404&mesg_id=6259404">this thread he said it seems to be over and so our "TENTATIVE plan is to end discussion of the primary at 12:00 noon ET, Wednesday June 11."

Tentative being the key word there I'd guess.

Forum rules change from time to time depending on what's going on, you'll find those stickied once set instead of tentative and sometimes even when not set :P Rules for the place at large which don't change can be found under the help button at the top of the screen.

3. The blame for this IN-FIGHTING falls 100% on the selfishness of both Clintons.

4. Ah... This looks like the official version...

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x6264603#6264837

It doesn't mention the one week "grace period" I keep hearing about, but it does mention the policy, and it seems to be posted by an official-looking profile.

Sorry, I managed to answer my own question. In the words of the immortal Emily Latella, "Never mind."
