What if Hillary refuses to concede?
My crystal ball says that Hillary will not concede & that she will not recognize Obama as the nominee. What happens then?

1. She may have sway over her supporters but she won't be on the ballot as a Dem

2. Then they count up the votes at the convention and whoever has the most is the nominee.
Which is exactly what they're going to do anyway.

3. She basically conceded
Although not explicit, she is doing nothing but prasing Obama and stressing the need to elect a Democrat after last night. Relax, it is going to happen soon enough.

It goes to the Convention. She hasn't "conceded" because no one's won anything yet.

23. What's it like living in that alternate universe?
More than enough superdelegates have pledged their support to Obama. True, he didn't win enough delegates during the primaries, but the superdelegates have put him over the edge - by a large margin.

Do you honestly think that hundreds of superdelegates are suddenly going to change their mind between now and Denver? Or is the plan to challenge each and every one of them?

5. What happens then? She destroys her political future.

She won't be allowed to hold the party hostage. And might end up finding herself with no influence when she returns to the Senate (because if she carries on like that there's no way in hell she'll get the VP nod).

7. I think...
you will see 99% of her superdelegates abandon her and switch to Obama. Her supporters will dwindle to the few unreasonable ones like Harriet Christian. The few that do remain aren't enough to negotiate a hostage situation with. She will become increasingly irrelvant and, depending on how far she takes it, she will soon become a pariah within the party.

If she does try to mount some sort of 3rd party or write in bid - she will be relegated to the level of Perot, Nader, Buchanan and the Clinton legacy will officially be garbage.

10. If that's the route she takes,
and spends the time between now and August presenting her argument to the SDs - then I think it will bode very poorly for our party and our success in November.

The longer she keeps trying to win, the longer her supporters will (understandably) stick with her, and we as a party don't get the time to heal and rebuild before the GE. We'll still be fighting each other rather than amassing a cohesive front to fight McCain. Machiavellian.

11. I get the feeling from HRC's speech last night that she will treat it as a mandate
from her supporters, in other words, she HAS TO respect their wishes and plow on. She won't say it's her idea. That's the reason why she said she would make no decision last night and would "consult" with her advisors and supporters about what her next move will be. And to go to her website.

She will make sure her supporters won't be "abandoned". The hell with the general election.

If he had, she would have conceded as promised. She knows better than to swallow the crapola lies being spread by the MSM and the Obama camp.

Simple as that.

She has a lot of meetings with people today to help her make decisions about the future of her campaign.

15. Very Little
She can run until her heart is content but that wont change the fact that Obama is the nominee. I could start running for President right now and my run would be just as valid as Hillary continuing her campaign.

We'll turn out the lights in the convention center and she will have to give her speeches in the dark.

27. Sure but she will have trouble getting on the ballot in some states.
There is no play there for her though. She won't win and she won't be able to run in 2012 as Democrat.

31. ok thanks
Not being able to run in 2012 as a dem is probably the only thing stopping her. I was concerned that she would try a Nader. Man I did respect her before but she is really really acting like a brat.

thanks for the info.

30. I gave her the benefit of the doubt yesterday.....
I urged for everyone to leave her be and let her drop out on her own terms.

BUT....after last night I am convinced she is a lunatic. Mr. potato head winning the nomination was a giant leap forward for this country and she didn't have the decency to give him his due. What the hell is she hoping to accomplish here?

I hope the party shuts her down.....may she burn brightly on her way down.
