Robert Johnson: Hill Authorized Me to Start VP Campaign
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 12:38 PM by tishaLA
This is the former BET owner, Hilary supporter....we remember him because of his comments in SC:

... Johnson said he began discussing the vice presidency with Clinton last month and that they talked about it at a dinner in Puerto Rico last Saturday and again by phone and e-mail on Tuesday. "Let me be clear," Johnson said in a telephone interview Wednesday morning. "She said if asked to do this, she must accept because she believes that it is in the best interest of the party that the party come together and win in November." ...

Johnson said he talked specifically with Clinton on Tuesday about his intentions. "She said, 'Go ahead,'" he recalled, although asked that he wait until Wednesday to do so. LINK

2. thanks!
I really wanted to post an OP on this, but I already had 3 posts. I just posted it in a reply thread. So, what has his campaign entailed so far? I heard today on CNN that he wrote a letter to Jim Clyburn urging Hillary as the VP. I hope it wasn't like his "letter" to Nancy Pelosi.

I don't know anything about it.

The guy is an asshat.

4. well, it wasn't just a letter from him specifically
He was included among other top Hillary donors who sent a letter to Nancy Pelosi "urging her to clarify her position that the superdelegates should choose the person who gets the most elected delegates", and the letter implied that the donors would cut off donations to the DNC if she did not comply.

6. Oh I didn't know he was part of that
I knew about Harvey Weinstein and that's about it. Yeah, that letter was just deplorable.

5. She wants to be a victim all the way to Denver
she knows this is a nonstarter, she refused Obama's calls last night.

This is simply a measure to discredit Obama and remind her zealots that she is a martyr.

7. She doesn't want a traditional VP slot
she wants a co-presidency. Sen Tubbs (I think that is her name) was being interviewed, and asked why would Hillary want the VP slot, which generally is a position with no real work to do? Tubbs said that the shape this country is in, there is plenty of work to do, and it might be wise to use two people like this to do the real work. My jaw just about dropped off.

That ain't suggesting Hillary be "VP". It is sharing the presidency. And just the whiff of that, esp. with freaky Bill in the background, has ended her chance to even be seriously considered. It is now just a matter of stomping on her knuckles to break her hold on the running board, so she can properly be thrown under the bus.

10. After what he said about Obama, why does he think he'll be
seen as a good broker for this? That puzzles me.
