Hillary haters are delusional............
Really, there is nothing she could have said last night to quelch the viciousness you have displayed. George Bush has never gotten this kind of hate on this board. There is absolutely no objectivity at all.

75. What about the morans
Saying Clinton can't be the VP pick because she'll assassinate Obama. Fucking moronic idiots living in delusional world.

If any of them have given as much of themselves to the party as Clinton has, I'd be so shocked, I think I'd have a heart attack.

Instead, these assholes hiding on the internet vilify a woman who has worked her whole life for issues we *say* are important to us, like poverty and children's issues.

Hell, I was not a Clinton supporter until after Edwards dropped and the anti-Hillary venom spewing made me take another look at her. And go with her instead of Obama.

It's been disgusting. If I were Clinton, I'd take it to the convention *because* of the way Obama supporters, both online and off, have acted. Including his paid staff and his media shills.

If you don't like Hillary being criticised, then go talk to Hillary and tell her to straighten up her act and not doing things which draw criticism.

Some may hate Hillary--some have even posted they "hate" her--but Hillary has worked very, very hard to earn that hate. She has built the case to hate her brick by brick, storey by storey, and she now has a 20-storey vault which can be filled with the hate she has earned.

58. Start with last night when reality should have been acknowledged and she should have
conceded

She is not evil for doing that, but this action is the last of many other things she's done that make one wonder if she has good political instincts or she's been blinded

There is that white statement to the USA today

There is more... but facts are stubborn things that many hillary supporters do not acknowledge

She now needs to recoup millions... and one thing that actually made sense as to why she is doing this, made sense

She owes a lot of favors to the mafia (read high powered donors) this may be the last chance in modern US history for big money to have that huge of an influence on the US President... and it is the end of the DLC.

But the DLC will not go away quietly into the night

And at this point what she is doing is manipulation, pure and simple

14. She could have, and should have conceded
Instead she left the door open to a floor fight at the convention, thus weakening the overall Democratic chances for a fall victory and keeping her supporters at such a frothing state of support that they're not ready to get behind the nominee and won't do so.

A simple concession, congratulation and endorsement of Obama would have been sufficient, and really should have been done. Instead we get one more collective slap in the face.

Let me ask you this, say Hillary had won, and instead of conceding Obama had done what Hillary is now doing, angling either for a floor fight or holding the party hostage for either the President or veep spot. Would you and your other fellow Hillary supporters be in a good mood? No, you'd be lighting up the boards and the internet screaming and raving about the situation. Considering how much crap, including this latest gem from Hillary, I think that Obama and his supporters are being fairly restrained.

22. All she had to do was congratulate Obama on his win. That's it.
She could have been gracious to him and his supporters. She could have done so many good things for the party and for herself by beginning the task of uniting democrats for the general election.

She chose not to be gracious.

23. Hillary is the delusional one
She should have conceded last night. Instead she decided to fuck up a HUGE day in the history of this country, the first Presidential nomination of an African-American. That was just completely tasteless and classless of her.

Contrast that with the amount of time Obama spent talking about her in his own speech, on "his night". Or even the amount of praise John Edwards gave her in his speech where he endorsed Obama. Why is it that we don't hear similar sentiments from Hillary?

30. Bullshit - her total lack of class & couth is what brings about the near-universal dislike of her
both here at DU and among decent people pretty much everywhere. She refuses to the right thing and concede, instead amping up her mobs with thinly-veiled threats to take this all the way to the convention. She's playing the 2012 game, and is engendering a good deal of well-deserved disgust and contempt along the way.

There will be a void left in their lives. BO had it right, there is bitterness but it's in his supporters. My God, you won, why diss on Hillary today? You can't even concentrate on going forward because of your hatred. Nothing Hillary ever does is good enough for you, get on with your 'elect BO campaign' and forget your hate.

51. If Clinton would 'get out of the picture'...
...we could get behind the Democratic nominee and train the (metaphorical) guns on McCain.

Until she concedes like she should have last night, we can't get to the important stuff.

Problem is, she refuses to get out of the picture - or admit that this election is no longer about her.

92. I'm just not sure if you have been reading the posts.......
here on democratic underground about Hillary, but apparently you haven't. They, for the most part, haven't been about truth, they have been about being as vicious as possible. Is it truth to say you think she should have conceded? Well, maybe. But apparently that can't be done without the name-calling.

I don't particulary like the fact that Obama pimped the Kennedy statement, but you won't here me calling him names because of it. I just simply state that this goes on with both side of a campaign, and I don't like it by either side. But that kind of thinking no longer exists here. It's always the shirts and the skins. Your side can do no wrong and the other side can do no right.

103. Obama didn't pimp the Kennedy statement.
Reread the press reports. His campaign adviser said immediately that it had no place in the campaign, and reports said he was privately angry. But in no way did he push the extreme interpretation of that silly, politically suicidal comment by Hillary Clinton. I'd challenge you to show where Obama personally or his campaign pushed hard on that comment, but that's not possible because it didn't happen.

43. You're entitled to your opinion . . .
most people here don't share it.
And not everyone who criticizes her, "hates" her. Most are just upset and extremely disappointed.
She has been losing this election for months now -- in fact, there was never a point where she was ahead -- and now that Obama has the number of delegates he needs to win, she still won't admit she's lost.
Instead of allowing Obama his "moment of glory," she did everything she could to make it about her.

She can fade into obscurity forever, for all I care.
I know she has many ardent, loyal supporters, but she doesn't deserve them. She has deluded them into thinking that she cares about them. Nothing can convince me anymore that she cares about anything but herself.

50. That is absolute BULLSHIT
You've been around for several years, so either you're being facetious or you're flat out lying. You know damned well the kind of absolute contempt that * is held to on this board.

Besides, Hillary could have conceded last night. She could have congratulated Obama for his success, and announced that she would work to get him elected. That's what candidates usually do once they know they've lost.

I guarantee you that if she had done so last night, the reaction would be far better than what you're seeing now. What you're seeing is a reaction to someone who still refuses to acknowledge reality. And she is now practically demanding to be his running mate? The nerve.

"Delusional"? Its delusional to recount dodging sniper fire when in fact you were standing around little children laughing and smiling. Its delusional to think you can still win the nomination over Obama at this point.

I would say Hillary and her steadfast supporters are the one suffering from delusion. I think its really a shame to watch what this woman did to our party all in the name of herself above everything else.

86. You don't think this has all been choreographed between the the 2 campaigns.
Or at least communicated what was going down. The Obama camp is giving Senator Clinton time to calm down her supporters. If she had come out last night and just said I concede, with all the niceties about Obama and how her supporters should now support him, there would still have been a lot of raw emotions and public displays of extreme displeasure like at the Rules Committee meeting. No one in the Democratic party would have wanted that. Just more fodder for the talking heads. This way, she eases them into the realization so when she finally does concede, hopefully most of that emotion will have been dissipated. After all the Obama campaign needs her supporters, not the other way around.
