The 2002 Steelers-Texans game (Or why the popular vote argument is stupid)
On December 8, 2002 (also known as one of the ten worst days of my life), the expansion Houston Texans defeated my beloved Steelers 24-6. They did this despite the fact that the Steelers gained 422 yards on offense while the Texans gained a paltry 47 yards.

Bill Cowher did not ask fans to send suggestions to the Steelers website to figure out what to do after the game.

(He probably did the right thing and rape Tommy Maddox with a yardstick. But that was just for motivation).

The point is, rules matter. Final scores matter.

Thank you.

1. Now on the other hand, there was Super Bowl 40
I know you're making an analogy about Hillary, but god damn that game was outright stolen :evilfrown:

5. LOL
I thought it definitely was a strange super bowl. I thought the Seahawks got jobbed on multiple occasions.

8. The steelers were owed some karmic calls after the Colts game which the NFL publicly criticized.

11. BTW
Every call was correct except for the illegal block call on Hasselbeck.

I've gone through this argument dozens of time.

Hillbots remind me of Seahawks' fans.

2. This is one of the best analogies
Because I frequently hear football fans cry about how they got more total yards when their team loses. Rules are rules.

Total yards are an impressive stat, but at the end of the day it's all about the scoreboard.

4. Did you still think they could possibly win with 30 seconds left?
Or, 3 hours after the game ended?

6. Maybe with 30 seconds left they could score
But it doesn't make a difference in the final outcome. ;-)
