Poll question: Should Obama join Clinton on Friday (or Saturday per CNN)?
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 07:51 PM by sniffa
Assuming that she is giving an endorsement.

That was my initial thought when the news came over the radio while we were running an errand. After some thought, I'm not so sure that may be a good idea.

Basically, I started to have reservations, that the people who attended the RBC may attend Friday's event, and that would not be a good image.

What say you CH:F?

1. Yes, she needs to show submission to his POSITION, the nominee
Nothing does that like a visual.

3. Submission?
methinks that may be a bad choice of words. She should endorse the guy not kiss a ring.

19. Yes, submission. We have a new leader, and all must acknowledge him.
Most importantly of all, his number one opponent must kiss the ring, and do so publicly.

This is presidential nomination politics 101.

27. That's An Unfortunate, Macho Term
And it suggests she has to observe a ritual pubic humiliation of the sort where male animals mount other animals to show their dominance.

I think the congratulatory words, vow of allegiance, and a salute will do the trick.

She doesn't have to present her butt.

28. since when is that the only definition of submit - the Latin means send under, not animal mounting.

2. I think there cannot be a better image to unify the party
than the two of them, side by side, smiling, hands raised together in triumph.

Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 07:48 PM by sniffa
and with her supporters, maybe not ready for it.. there could be some booing, or whatever. I don't think that's a good image.

I think that should come, but I just don't know if Friday is the day for it. I'm also not sure what kind of "event" this is - is it a rally?

22. I don't think there'll be booing. Crowds are malleable. Last night, at the Xcel,
the crowd booed John McCain's name--and then, as soon as it was clear Obama was praising his service, they applauded and cheered. When Obama praised Clinton, the crowd cheered her. Clinton has gotten her crowds to cheer by praising Sen. Obama as well. As long as both candidates act positive, the crowd will respond. Any few nutjobs like in the RBC would find themselves swimming against the stream--meaning they most likely wouldn't last 20 seconds before they gave in and either shut up or cheered too.

6. If they can smile
on stage together and shake hands, I think that would be terrific. I also think Obama needs to be there to show he's in charge.

One thing that will start to end the moronic nonsense is a show that these two can get along.

Let her do this on her own, and then have them come together at a big Obama event at a big arena...say Madison Square Garden.

More trouble. It looks like she's trying to push herself into the VP spot by showing millions of TV viewers how supportive she is and what a good pair they make. It's all about that image. :puke:

Personally I'd recommend staying away from her until after the VP has been selected.

Just because everything has become so twisted with power plays this week. Let her end her campaign and endorse. Then they can appear together on the road. Keep it simple.

I think it's quite possible there will be some Harriet Christians there that would undermine the moment, to say the least.
