NY Delegation, led by Rangel will Endorse Obama TODAY!
http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/

Sources in New York's congressional delegation say discussions are underway for the delegation to endorse Obama, with Rep. Charlie Rangel organizing a press conference today at 1:00 p.m. at the DCCC.

Rangel, the dean of the New York delegation, has asked other members to attend the press conference to "applaud Clinton's support of Barack Obama," though the details of the event, and whether it would technically be an "endorsement," remain fluid.

Sources said African-Amercan New York members, including Greg Meeks, Yvette Clarke, and Ed Towns, are pushing for an immediate endorsement.

Doesn't look like they plan on waiting until Saturday.

3. Wow. She really pissed Rangel off.
She needs to tread VERY carefully in the coming days.

This should effectively put an end to her attempts to strong-arm her way to the VP spot.

It's over, folks.

19. I'm hoping she convinces New Yorkers to remove her from office....
I mean, there must be a legitimate reason for removal of Hillary Clinton from her Senate seat.

13. they've been mortified a lot longer
I spoke to Yvette Clarke's office a couple times, they were professional enough to not say what they were really thinking, but they did say that Yvette's endorsement was "a looooooong time ago".

18. Rangel: NY delegation is unanimous
The New York Democratic congressional delegation is unanimously endorsing Barack Obama for president, Rep. Charles Rangel stated in a press release.

The Harlem Democrat said the endorsement is being made ahead of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s Saturday announcement that she is withdrawing from the race and endorsing Obama “in order to accommodate those members of Congress who will be unable to return to Washington on Saturday.’’

http://polhudson.lohudblogs.com/2008/06/05/rangel-ny-delegation-is-unanimous/

As we mentioned earlier, the New York Congressional delegation, led by Charlie Rangel, "endorse Hillary Clinton for endorsing Obama" this afternoon. Rangel, an ardent Clinton supporter throughout the primary, called Obama an "outstanding candidate."

"In our collective opinion, he has won the nomination," he said. "No question about it."

The delegation made the collective announcement today because many of the representatives will be in their home districts this weekend. While it was billed as a rally, it turned into a less than 10-minute press conference. <...>

When asked how Clinton is doing, Rangel said she "was just as spunky as ever."

20. "was just as spunky as ever:" translated:
"She's fine...they expect to start weaning her off sedatives Friday night in time for her Saturday appearance"
