It's a damn shame that Hillary wasn't able to rise above her own instincts and do the decent thing
just this one time. With the Clintons, jealousy trumps all other considerations.

It is inconceivable to me - even though, at this point, it probably shouldn't be - that, to this date, neither Hillary nor Bill have
picked up the phone and congratulated Obama on earning the designation as presumptive presidential nominee of our party.

At every possible opportunity, Obama has been praiseful of her (and I'll even admit to being a bit ticked off at his generosity toward her at times).
But she cannot bring herself to act in a decent and civil manner in return, even to someone who has been utterly respectful of her.

I simply cannot tolerate the Clintons any more. Their sense of superiority and self-righteousness is what brought them down,
and they're too self-absorbed to realize that the game is over and they should stand up, walk to the middle of the field
and shake hands with the winning team.

It's just a damn shame.

3. the fact that she refused to concede on her own.
until the last person knows, that she lost, from the most vial source, ie. not from herself, is unacceptable.
It was part of a historical national event that was lost for the rest of time.
Hillary must redeem on Saturday. or whatever other day we're worried about, lol.

8. Yeah. You can't say something gracious when the words are coming through clenched teeth.

24. Why should I say anything gracious to the stonewall called Clinton
that purports to stand for democracy, Yet at this moment in history,
fails to open its gate for the celebration of Obamas epic milestone that will stand longer than time itself.

I will say Hillary is a nice person, but she is still acting like Debbie Downer

4. Well, she just slit her own throat. NO ONE will want to go through this again
with her. She can say goodbye to 2012 or any other year, for that matter.

5. Thank goodness for that!
The Clinton's should take their fortune and disappear from public life.

They sold us all down the river and got their payoff, now they need to fuckoff - for good!

6. Ya know, starting when kids are 5 years old and join the "Little Kickers" soccer teams or Little
League or whatever sports they get into, they're taught that, at the end of the game - no matter which side wins - both
teams face each other and "hit hands" as a sign of goodwill. That's what good sportsmanship is all about.

Hillary has never been a team player and never will be, although she missed a great chance on an international stage to
show she was capable of being above the fray.

There will never be another chance like that to redeem herself - not when a simple congratulatory statement had to be wrung
out of her like blood from a stone.

9. The fact that she listened to Party members and will do the right thing says a lot
She probably felt she had more clout that she does. After all she got a lot of votes and she's Hillary. But in the end she's a member of her Party and is doing what's expected. We never stop learning and neither does she.

I'm still holding my breath a little until she speaks publicly. But I'm confident it will be okay.

14. Historically, that's not exactly true
And today, I'm in no mood to carry on with more negativity towards her. If she doesn't express appropriate sentiments in her concession speech and if she doesn't endorse Obama, that will certainly be another story.

But today, it's over as far as I'm concerned. I want to put my energy towards beating McCain. Believe you me, the Republicans are going to be formidable even if their candidate is not.

See you on the barricades!

15. I respect your desire to get on with it. I'm just not there yet and won't be until
Hillary gives the people of this country, the political process and her "opponent" the respect we all deserve
by offering congratulations to him for his win and by whole-heartedly endorsing his candidacy.

20. And I can understand your need to decompress
Last night I actually watched Rove interviewed on Fox. He gave me the willies. You know how it is when you see him speaking. Something clicked and I put the whole Hillary thing on hold in my mind. Figured I could do anything for a couple of days.

Giving Obama his due is so much more than respect for one person. Jesse Jackson said he cried off and on all night. A House member fixed himself a drink and as he sat to watch the speech by himself he said he was shaking. This is a big deal and the historical nature of it deserves that people conduct themselves right. When I was 16 I was in D.C. in August of 1963 at the civil rights march and so have been waiting for this for 45 years. Nothing escapes me here.

Hugs

21. Your post gave me the chills, over and over, imagining those little scenes taking place all over the
country and the world, private moments, each person with their own frame of reference and
their own set of memories, staring at the wonder of it, the promise, the pride.

I was on my couch, stretched out with a blanket over me.
When his speech was over, I realized that the blanket was on the floor and I had been standing the whole time.
I don't remember rising to my feet - it was an involuntary reaction.

Wonderful once-in-a-lifetime moment.

(((Hug)))

P.S. Can you make your post into an OP?

22. I'll do an OP when the dust settles
I was thinking about in August during the convention.

Now, *your* reply gave me the good goosebumps. You'll remember it crystal clear your whole life. We've been through so much awful stuff these past 7 years and now this dawn breaking. The word 'awesome' is taking a new depth of meaning. I'm so glad we can all be together to share this era of history!

(Btw, the House member was Rep. Clyburn. His name slipped my mind but someone posted about him yesterday watching Obama's speech.)

HRC is ALMOST as dangerous as Grampy McSame. In that, their IDEOLOGICAL views govern their behaviors - no reflection - all Self-Righteous Arrogance. :(
