After tonights meeting...is there any doubt that she will be VP
BO is meeting Hill at her home in DC.....Bill is probably there, and they
are going to work on Obama like a brain surgeon.

He doesn't stand a chance... Their arguments will be to much to reject.

In other words, they will give him a offer he can not refuse !

1. The Clintons don't have anything to offer Obama. She lost.
He's holding all the cards, and he can choose anyone he wants. And it most likely won't be Hillary.

2. The same arguments Bill gave Richardson during the Super Bowl?
I loved the pictures of that meeting. It looked like Richardson really wanted to watch the game and Bill kept interrupting to talk about Hillary!

He is asserting himself in every way. He totally owns Joe Lieberman. He is purging the influence of lobbyists.

If they are successful in playing him like a cello, I think they will also be surprised to find he is not playing the tune they were expecting to hear.

10. Yes, I very much doubt that she will be VP
I don't want to get into the why of it, because I don't want to say anything that would continue the fight, but I will say this: The Clintons know politics, they know there are other people out there who will turn states Blue. If the Clintons want to win they can help to achieve unity without being on the ticket.

86. I find it remarkable that someone could be here for so long and observe so little.
The only groups wanting to ram Clinton down Obama's throat are the die-hard, irrational Clinton supporters and those who, like Pat Buchanan, see Clinton on the ticket as the best way for the GOP to win in November.

The only people who refer to Obama as "BO" are those who despise him or are so clear in their support for him that being so lazy that using this offensive monogram won't be taken incorrectly. Your support for Obama isn't clear. Don't call him "BO", okay?

You're going to elicit negative and sometimes harsh responses from people with your approach, particularly so soon after an intentionally divisive campaign by the Hillary clan.

Back to your OP -- yes, there's plenty of doubt. Obama resisted the irresistable force for over a year now. I think he'll be able to make his decision with a clear head.

I don't think VP is an option, I think Hillary knows (and has known for some time) that she took that option off the table when she ran her scorched earth campaign.

I agree that it's probably a meeting to orchestrate her speech(es) in the coming days and probably talk about other potential positions she may be able to hold in Obama's administration.

He has already said there will be a vetting process, do you really think Bill can pass that process? Well he give up the names of his library donors, or his questionable business partners? And please tell me how Obama can run in the GE when everyday Hillary will be in TV ads repeating all the negative things she said about him during the primary!

I can see the VP debates now. Whoever the republican VP is will keep asking her in every debate how she can claim Obama should be president when she herself said that he would bring nothing but a speech, but McCain would bring years of experience. Now how is that going to work to get them elected?

and he is going over those details with her in private, it means that by the time the evening is over, his position on their role will be made very clear to them.

That is what a leader does, and Sen. Barack is light years ahead of the Clintons on that. Which is something that surprises me, that I never saw coming. This young man is very good at chess; while the Clintons are still playing checkers with him.

85. Me too -
Clinton right now is kind of crazy-tough to deal with given the circumstances, for sure.

Look at how this was set-up, culminating with her whole NY delegation (read those who she has to work with re her Senate seat and Senate future) doing an intervention and reality check, ie "you aren't as "special" as you imagined, and we are more pissed off than you thought". None of what has happened over the past two days is even close to what Clinton wanted to have happen, she hasn't figured out a way to be a step ahead of things yet, and is now being leaned on in a way she never imagined people would dare do to her and Bill. I know that no matter what they discuss tonight, she will STILL be trying to see if there is any way out of the trap that has been laid to get her to move on like a normal candidate already would have done. Unbelievable, but mentally she hasn't accepted that she won't be in the WH again (and Bill is more freaked out about this than she is).

Obama has remained calm and measured throughout the last two days; and has made moves that me as an old retired lawyer is just chuckling over. The kid is good, and I have high hopes that the WH will season him well and give us a good leader who will be one for the history books.

The events of today alone convince me that if this gambit doesn't work to take Hillary off the VP list in a very public way, Obama is more than up to the challenge of finding the way that will - without alienating the majority of her voters, whom I think are good people capable of critical thinking and with a desire for forward progress (nothing you can do about the wierdos).

Let's cross our fingers, and get out the popcorn - should be a few interesting days ahead:)

41. All he has to say is, "I've got you on the list. Don't call us, we'll call you."

I wouldn't say a Hillary VP spot is entirely out of the picture, but it's extremely unlikely.

It certainly won't be given to her based on tonight -- I doubt that has much to do with what they're talking about.

More likely, the topic is campaign debts, future talking points and coalition-building, staffers she wants Obama to take and ones he'd like to get, and her interests for the future (including but not at all limited to the VP spot).

Obama would not have gotten this far if he could be strong-armed so easily.

You don't bargain with the presumptive nominee, Barack holds all the cards and gets to pick the terms of their surrender. Fortunately for them, he seems like a reasonably generous guy.

55. I just really don't see her being the VP now. I think this primary has been revealing to top dems.

I'm even more convinced it's going to be Jim Webb after Obama's appearance with Webb in Virginia today.

64. Wrong - They don't pass the vetting already. She was rejected in 2004 for some serious reasons by
the same leader in charge of the search for Obama - and Bill's added to the seriousness of the problem since then with his windfalls from the very same BCCI thugs involved with GHWBush's illegal operations he protected from accountability throughout the 90s. You don't go taking 20 million dollars from the very same Dubai royals who STAKED the largest share of BCCI bank - the financial playground for global terror networks - especially when you were the president who protected those thugs to please Poppy Bush.

70. No VP.
I think they're meeting about fundraising to pay off her debts. I think it has to be done by a specific date, or she can't get back the $11 million she contributed. She's not going to be VP. I would bet the farm on it.

before any decisions can even be considered.

78. I think Hillary is trying to bully her way on the ticket, without a vetting...
...and using her voters as leverage. Obama will then pull out of his suit pocket, a vetting form and ask that Hillary & Bill sign it and agree to open up their financial details. Hillary & Bill will of course say no, threatening to unleash the Clinton army to vote against him. Obama will reply by saying he already knows a great deal about their ill-gotten gains and he'll go public with why he can't choose her as his VP. That will be the end of her quest for the VP position and she will publically admit she wishes to remain in the Senate. The End. :D
