Why Hillary Won't Be VP
And I'm not going to say a thing against her.

Obama, Bill and Hillary know politics, as do all of the people on their teams and their friends in the House, Senate, various State Houses etc.,

Bill and Hillary can, for the most part, bring their supporters on without being on the ticket. They can reclaim their legacy and their status on the campaign trail, if they are part of a winning effort.

But, a second Senator from the North East does not bring many new votes to the ticket whereas a Southern Governor, or a Western Governor could flip a state or two.

Hillary supporters do not need her on the ticket to vote Dem, they just need her (and Bill) to convince them. A good chunk of those who still won't vote for Obama are, consciously or subconsciously, voting at least partially based on race - people who won't vote for a black man won't vote for a black man regardless of who his VP is.

The Dems want to win and win big (including Obama, Clinton, Clinton and all of their allies). Making Hillary #2 is not the best way to do that.

1. Plus she doesn't want it
Why would she ruin her career?

It makes no sense.

21. You're not asking me but...
In his speech on Tuesday he indicated that Hillary would get credit when they passed Health Care Reform and a Green Energy Policy. I'm thinking that's what she's asked for and in his speech he told her she'd get it.

11. Thanks
I didn't get from that that she didn't want it. Just that she wasn't pushing for it.

5. Imagine having Bill Clinton around second guessing your ass all the
time & trying to hog the spotlight & making remarks? Even though I miss the good times, I don't think it would work out, you can't go back home again.

about office politics inside the White House. I'm still thinking about how to get him there.

No matter what room he walked into, everyone knew that he was the smartest one there.

10. Hillary brings core groups that in turn bring states - indeed she is the best "fit"

12. I don't think so
I think Hillary, if she wants to, can bring her core groups without being on the ticket and let a Governor from the West or South bring a state or two along.

20. Yes but I'm saying that
If Hillary campaigns for Obama, and convinces people that he will do right by them that she can bring her people on board without being on the ticket

Then someone like Richardson can bring on New Mexico and help throughout the South West (not Arizona probably) but Texas, Colorado, California (should be ours anyway but never hurts), even a bit in Florida

19. One of those groups
is the would-rather-not-vote-if-McCain-is-our-candidate-but-will-vote-for-anyone-to-defeat-Hillary-in-any-endeavor-if-the-opportunity-presents-itself group.

I live and work with those people, and that is what I hear.
