BlooInBloo Needs Help Coming Up With Another Name For McOlderThanDirt!
I'm dissatisfied with "McOlderThanDirt" because it kinda sounds like I'm dissing older folks in general, which I don't mean to be.

Are there any folks in here who might have a replacement suggestion?

I'm sure it's probably something I don't want to get into, but at first glance it was funnier then hell.

Actually, I did a search and one of our great DUers explains:

April, 2006

McCain:
"I don't think I need to tell you that there are jobs that American's will not do. I don't think I have to tell you that they are the backbone of our economy."

Crowd:
"Pay them the right wages and they'll do it."
"Pay them the right wages"

McCain
"I've heard that statement before."

"I'll offer anybody here $50 and hour if you'll go pick lettuce in Yuma this season and pick for the whole season.
Okay, sign up now. You sign up and you'll be there for the whole season, not just one day, because you can't do it my friend.

http://www.azstarnet.com/sn/border/124762

As he steered his Straight Talk Express across the United States in recent weeks, Republican Sen. John McCain has tried to stay a-head of the immigration issue. But Friday the immigration issue delivered 36 or so heads to his Phoenix office — heads of lettuce, that is.

McCain has been getting skewered in the media for comments earlier this month to a union group in Washington, D.C., that immigrants are taking jobs no one else wants, and offered them $50 an hour to pick lettuce in the Arizona sun for a summer, suggesting they couldn't do it.

The senator didn't stick around long enough to process any applications, despite several offers to take him up on his offer from the audience.
So Friday more than three dozen demonstrators showed up at his office, many carrying lettuce picker applications in one hand, and a head of lettuce in the other to show they could do the job.

McCain was not on hand to greet them, but somehow it's probably not the kind of green he was hoping to collect for his budding presidential bid.

88. I don't get the need for cutesypoo nicknames for public figures.
It makes me think people are immature and probably not worth listening to when they have bizarre little names for candidates.

I guess it reminds me too much of the freepers, who had a hundred or so juvenile variations on Clinton's name (most of which have surfaced in our new and improved DU these past few months).

How about "Senator McCain, who has expressed his willingness to keep our troops in the Iraq meatgrinder for another century" or "John McCain, who promises to continue all of Bush's policies"?

124. Call him McCain
I'm following the lead of the candidate of my choice, and calling the Senator from Arizona by his name.

He's worthy of my respect. Not my vote or my political support. But certainly my respect.

I'm an Obama supporter because I'm weary of the name calling.

It's not part of my American vision.

That sort of name calling and baiting I found offensive in HRC, and it turned me towards Obama.

And there, I found the change I was looking for.

So, sorry, no disparaging names for me.

Not only is it disrespectful, in my opinion, it diminishes him in my mind. I don't intend to hold him there as a lesser candidate. That's a little risky.
