In case you missed it live, a clip of Olbermann interrupting McCain's speech to announce...
...that Obama is the presumptive nominee.

This is the first I've seen or heard of it, since I was gone when the speech was live.

Not only does he cut into the speech (audio and video), but it happens right after the crowd's dull chants of "go John McCain" that follow his infamous "Heh ... THAT's not change we can believe in, heh..." line.

McCain rewards the crowd's exuberance with "Reforming from top to bottom unemployment insurance and retraining programs that were designed..."

(Sidetrack: I guess I'm saying that they're going to have to steal about 80% of the vote this time to keep our candidate out of the White House. He's too good, and McCain is too awful.)

It really flows, starting at about 2:30. The "not change we can believe in" line, which has already become its own punchline, the forced, obligatory chanting, the beginning of the dullest sentence he's ever read aloud, and then Olbermann wiping him off the screen to introduce his opponent.

Poor fella.
:D

1. ABC played Obama's speech on network tv til the moment Obama mentioned
mccain's name and started attacking his policies. Then charlie gibson cut away to talk about Obama vs. Clinton.

Maybe McCain is a real life "HypnoToad"?

8. I was thrilled they cut away from McBush, but..
...you'd think one of his advisers would have told him to either go earlier or later. The timing was simply perfect for Obama! :applause:

9. So we not only have the better candidate (by far)...
...but our candidate has sharp advisers, and McCain's suck.

:toast:

12. MSNBC and CNN cut away a few seconds before 9pm EDT...
It was time for the South Dakota results to come in, and with them the delegates that put Obama over the top. :)

I can't believe McCain's handlers didn't realize this was going to happen!
