3. I heard on NPR several weeks ago...
A lot of democratic bills never get passed not because republicans block them, a lot of them get taken off the floor if too many republicans up for re-election support them. They're worried it will make them look more favorable and they might steer away democratic voters in close race districts if they vote for a bill they like.

10. That was just pure "screw the people"
And stuff like that never gets reported. I just happened to have the radio on at that time and according to the guest speaking it happens all frequently close to election time and then it takes months or years to get to the floor again if it even does.

2. I guess you don't get to be majority leader without a little bit of
courage. (A very little bit.) :eyes:

8. I think Reid deserves a break on this
Reid, Pelosi, and Howard Dean all held back until the Primaries were over. They are the leaders of the democratic party right now, well at least they were until Obama is nominated, and they can't show a preference. It was a close race, what if Hillary had won? They insult many in the Senate and House by choosing too early, or incorrectly. I think they did the right thing, in this case at least.

11. I agree. You can blame some SD for waiting too long, but the top party
leaders had a good reason to wait.
