Whitey tape exposed for being completely stolen from a book.

Forgive the source... the debunker is in fact repuke thug... but he is trying to dispel the rumor so that other repukes don't fall for it and assume that they have the nomination wrapped up. So here goes:


Sometimes, this rumor of this alleged tape of Michelle Obama denouncing “whitey” sounds like something out of a clichéd political thriller novel. Actually, it sounds exactly like something out of a clichéd political thriller novel. Specifically, Stephen Frey’s The Power Broker, published in 2006 by Ballantine Books.

A major plot line of the novel is the presidential campaign of Democrat Jesse Wood, aiming to be the country’s first African American president — “Wood was handsome, smart, charismatic, and being mentioned increasingly often in the press as someone who could unite a twenty-first century America growing more, not less, racially and economically divided.” (p.35)

He’s a U.S. Senator from New York and former senior partner at a prestigious law firm. His backers include “some of the old Black Panthers.” He wants to make Puerto Rico a state, and a recurring figure in his campaign is a controversial minister from Philadelphia called “Jefferson Roundtree.”.......

(I know it sucks that the link is from that trash...but that doesn't change the fact that the book and this alleged scandal are coincidental)

For those select few Clinton supporters who where trying to push this imaginary scandal considered yourselves PWNED.

I was hoping for it - not just because of the fallout, but because I was so looking forward to the inevitable Obama response: Wright? Not the man I knew. Rezko? Not the man I knew. Michelle "Whitey" Obama?

Then he'd have to head off to Niagra Falls to give a a very sober and scholarly "Speech On Spouses" that would start meriting new comparisons to Lincoln's Cooper Union speech (at least in the starry eyes of your average latte liberal "journalist.")

It doesn't surprise me to hear it's conjured up crap from a book. When you've got nothing you've got to manufacture. No real surprise here.

they were going over all of the ups and downs of the campaign..and one of the contributors.. a famous reporter I have seen a gazillion times and just cannot think of his name now, talked about "the tape" ...and promoted the idea it really existed and how it could be another thing to blow up for Barack ..
