1. You're giving McCain Iowa?
I think Iowa is the Bush state from 2004 that is most likely to flip. It's one of the two states that Gore won but Kerry lost, Obama spent a ton of time there during the caucuses (while McCain largely bypassed Iowa and focused on New Hampshire), and I have heard he is quite popular there. I certainly think Iowa is more likely for Obama than North Carolina.

Otherwise I think your predictions are pretty good though.

7. I think we don't get AR, and maybe not FL, but we do get VA, the Carolinas as a toss up...
Also Montana and the Dakotas in play.

3. Whew! I can move forward with the rest of my day now!

Actually, I think Nevada is open to being flipped. I have lots of experience with Nevada politics and I see the migration of Californians moving into the state, and taking their politics with them, and the high number of Independent voters in Nevada an open door for Obama to walk through. I would bet his campaign has a plan to flip the state. And I bet they are successful. He could likely take most of the west, and make Grumpy McSame fight for every vote he gets in the McCain Safe States, like Arizona for example, where Obama is polling tighter than previously expected.

9. I'd like to be that optimistic
I think he can take VA if he chooses Mark Warner as his VP.

CO, NM, NV, IA and OH are the others I'd be targeting.

10. I guess Christmas came early this year
:)

Nice picks but I think we'll do better! I think McCain will have a tough fight in these 'pink' states.
