McCain Is Not Mentally Fit and, Quite Frankly, Scary
I don't say this to be "cute" - he seriously is failing and not in possession of all his faculties. I rather dismissed the first things like not knowing who was who in Iraq as a "senior moment" (lord, I should know).

I became more uncomfortable as he continued to get the players mixed up. Then, this man who tells us he will lead us to victory in Iraq, doesn't know how many surge troops are there or troops in general...and when confronted by the media first looks like a deer in the headlights and then gets nasty, snarkey and fucks up the facts again and shows he doesn't know how many there will be in July, etc. (I think you have to know how many troops you have on the field to lead them to glorious victory, General McSame!).

Then comes the Everglades gaffe. Now, it has been pointed out that his campaign is poorly run and perhaps some numb nut arranges for the "photo op" trip. But, the man cannot even remember that umpteen times he crapped on Everglade preservation and again gets shook and angry when called on it. He walked right into this gaffe knowing it was on his schedule and no light bulb went on to tell his staff "cancel that--not going to be good because I've screwed the Everglades over for years".

This isn't being "politically" picky. This man has diminishing capacities and will never be capable of handling the tons of details and decisions thrown at a president. I truly believe that these "problems" of his have to be vigorously brought to light and pointed to during this campaign because Americans need to be aware of them. They are not watching everything he does. So it is the Dems duty to show them. There is no way this man can be put in charge of this government. In fact by pushing for the presidency while being mentally diminished is total disrespect for this nation in quest for his personal ambition.

2. We need to spotlight it
I'm acquainted with age - I'm nearer McCain's age than most people here. And I can see "failing" a lot clearer than young people. The way in which he responds and reacts is so telltale. We cannot let the Repub machine cover this up from the people like we let them push Ronnie on us without pointing out where his mind was "going".

14. He's old for his age. Dole was older and he didn't make the same kind of mistakes as McCain.

3. McCain is a shill. I figure there'll be an October suprise.....
McCain having to drop out for "health reasons" the repubs toss a new player into the ring and the Obama camp won't have time to hit the new candidate effectively.

4. That candidate...
wouldn't have time to present himself to the public either. That would be suicide for the GOP.

7. But I wouldn't bet against it...
I can honestly see McCain having a reprise of Bush's "major league asshole" moment only on a much more devastating scale. McCain has a nasty temper, and he's one of those guys who thinks he's being funny when, in fact, he's being outrageously hurtful (remember the White House Dog?).

My money is on McCain making some jaw-droppingly inappropriate racial slur against Barak or Michelle at some point in September or October.

Macaca, anyone?

8. I'm not sure about that - if he's white, has religion in his soul and
is a REAL 'Murkin the base could energise itself.....

If the MSM does an effective hit on Obama it could happen....

I can't take McCain seriously as a candidate.

5. It has always seemed as though the Republicans had some
type of plan to prevail no matter what they had to do to pull it off. This time, if McCain is it,
I don't get it.

Have they (1) given up or (2) do they have the voting machine totally rigged or (3) are they planning
to run in a "ringer" after McCain picks a VP and then suddenly develops "health problems"?

9. 2 and 3, prolly;
and the 'ringer' is, Mitt Romney!

I agree with the premise, and won't be at all surprised if his 'disability' becomes apparent to all at some point.

12. Reagan was just as bad. Senility is not an impediment to a Republican nominee. nt

13. In fact, it is an asset so that the puppet masters behind the curtain can ply their trade
with greater anonymity.
