War on the Middle Class ( LTTE idea)
(Sent this in today, will it be published? Who knows.)

War on the Middle Class

As the Bush campaign lobs shells at John Kerry’s war record and crows with delight as it labels him a flip-flopper; the Kerry campaign points to recent findings by the Congressional Budget Office that indicate that President Bush has been lobbing shells at America’s middle class as well.

The already wealthy Top 1% of income earners saw a healthy increase of 10.1% in after-tax income, while the Middle 20% of income earners saw a modest gain of 2.3%. The bottom 20% saw only a 1.6% increase.

As wealthy Americans invest in treasury bills and bonds, middle class citizens are left stranded as their jobs are outsourced, and the rising costs of health care premiums and prescription drugs weigh heavily on their minds.

And who will wind up paying the interest on the bills and bonds as they mature? Middle class Americans.

“…by far, the vast majority of the help goes to the people at the bottom end of the economic ladder.” – George W. Bush, (10/11/00).

So who’s the flip-flopper?
