McCain on Gitmo: “One of the Worst Decisions in the History of This Country”

Friday, June 13th, 2008

The Arizonan comes out hard against Thursday’s Supreme Court decision to grant more judiciary rights for enemy combatants during a town hall in Pemberton, New Jersey.

Also quoted from Justice Roberts’ dissent, railed against “unaccountable judges” and suggests the courts will be flooded with cases from detainees.

http://www.time-blog.com/swampland/2008/06/mccain_slams_the_supreme_court.html">TIME’s Michael Scherer: “Yesterday, it was not clear if McCain would make the court decision an election year issue. Today, there is no doubt it will be.”

7. Why doesn't he say what he really means?
"The Constitution is just a god damned piece of paper"

Has any candidate run on an anti-Constitution platform before? Even Bush wasn't stupid enough to run on that.

11. I think the SC decision of 2000 is even futher up there
The decision to put bush/Cheney in the White House is probably at the top of the list, in fact.

Somehow I can't see Sen. McCain agreeing to that idea.

13. How DARE the Supreme Court uphold the Constitution?!
:eyes:

Compare bush* and McBush's statements on the decision to Obama's. Obama is sooo far above these morons in reason, intellect and respect for the Constitution - I can't believe anyone is even considering voting for the GOP. WTF is wrong with people?

17. The Constitution is hanging on by a thread. McCain is poison.
Anyone who would consider voting for McCain must love fascism and hate liberty.

Oh wait, that's not what he meant?

Wow. I just sort of made the assumption, what with him being tortured for years as a POW and all...

:sarcasm:

Tool! I say. TOOL! (that bit's not sarcasm)
