Her, Keith, Chuck Todd, Williams, Gregory.
Over on CNN James Carville was a mess, as were Paul Begala & Larry King.
Carville was the most emotional of that bunch though.

Edited on Fri Jun-13-08 04:49 PM by depakid
the woman has a LONG history of spreading unfounded rumors and inaccurate statement (several of which I've noted personally on this forum in the past couple of weeks).

If the search feature was on, I'd cite you the EXACT THREADS.

She also lies rather transparently and has guests who she knowingly allows to lie without ever challenging them or providing honest and rational analysis.

Bottom line: She (and her husband) have played you all for suckers time in and time out.

And will do it again in a heartbeat- without a second thought.

"...and if KO loved Russert like that, the man must have really been something else."

That's really nailing it, michele. That just makes so much sense. Personally, I appreciate the reminder. There's part of me that's gone toward the critical upon the mention of his name, and those who holler about cooling one's jets and allowing time to mourn are certainly correct. It's obvious from the reactions of the people on camera that they're responding to Russert as a man, a friend, a guy they knew well - and respected and trusted, and a fellow traveler and laborer in the news vineyard. They talk about his personality and genuineness and warmth and humanity a LOT - a lot more than they do the work-related attributes - which by themselves are considerable.

He was fortunate in the way he went out. In the middle of doing what he loved. Bing Crosby did that - dropped dead out on the links. This general manager for whom I worked at one of the best rock stations in town was like that. Out one Saturday playing softball with his friends - the department heads at the station. Boom. Dropped over dead. Just like that. Gone before he hit the ground. It's a good way to go. I bet there's a small part of Russert that, while accepting this new status, thinks about the election season he'll miss - maybe the best and most stupendous election season in American history. Then again, he did see the end of the primary season, and maybe he already knows who won the Big One. You can see a lot farther from where he is is now, I imagine.

Death of Tim Russert: Matthews in Europe

For those watching Keith Olbermann's coverage on MSNBC, and who have written to TVNewser inquiring about Chris Matthews, the network tells us he is on vacation in Paris and expected to deliver a statement soon. I snapped the picture below in April, at Tammy Haddad's garden party. Tim and his wife Maureen Orth (far left) were heading out, as Chris Matthews and his wife Kathleen (far right) were arriving.

You need to think more about the role media plays in our society and then maybe you'd get what a big blow this is to NBC, Sunday morning news shows, and the media in general. Russert was no Cronkite, but he had an important niche in his own right.

69. Many of us HAVE thought about the "role media plays in our society", we've been paying attention,
and we're totally fokkin' disgusted at the DAMAGE that the Corporate Propaganda Ministry (a far more accurate term than "the press") has done to our democracy and the world. Russert and his ilk have played a very large part in that damage. They have NOT been doing the job that the "press" is supposed to do in a free society. Plenty of info out there to confirm this, including an international ranking of press freedom or some such that I can't find right now. The US ranked VERY low.

Wake up and smell the coffee, people. Our country is farther gone than you think (or *want* to think - another poster on another thread pointed out that DENIAL may be playing a large role here, and I think s/he's right). Sad but true.

Edited on Fri Jun-13-08 06:43 PM by OPERATIONMINDCRIME
You're such a selfish ass, so ignorant, so childish, bitter, distasteful, classless and cold. I RARELY find such traits in democrats, and usually find they belong to those who are not just republican (since I know many good republicans), but the total fringe what's left of bush's base type republicans. So I'm always surprised to see such tone, stupidity and selfishness spewed here, since it boggles my mind that someone can be that classless yet still align themselves with the Democrats. You've just displayed quite a few sentiments that are completely contradictory to what being a Democrat is. I'm ashamed to have your type in our party, to be honest with ya. Scumbag.
