17. vilification
Team Obama's worked double time trying to convince everyone on websites like this that the Clintons were directly responsible for NAFTA, Iraq War, outsourcing, Welfare Reform, the death of Affirmative Action, etc.; kind of hard picturing Clinton giving a heartfelt endorsement at this point. We've only had three dem administrations in the last 40 years; Clinton headed two of them, and they were the only effective ones. Note to Team Obama: don't shit where you eat.

At his point they probably can't stand to be in the same room, but both Obama and Bill will go through the motions. That's the way politics is played. You win some you lose some, but the thing is to survive to fight a new battle another day.

39. note to Clinton: You do want your wife to have a future, don't you?
I'd think Clinton would wag his finger at us all and say his intentions for these measures did not meet what Congress did with it.

(how is the Iraqi War his fault...I've never understood that one)
NAFTA and Welfare Reform OK
(was Affirmative Action killed? Really? I thought the Republicans forced his hand and Bill couldn't help himself by reforming and not ending)

Anyhow, he can either kiss his role goodbye or fall in line whether it is plausible or not.

29. Those who hate him and her now will not be appeased; he'll do it when it's best for the party
The last time a candidate scorned Bill Clinton and snubbed his inestimable campaigning talents was '00, and it was the dumbest thing Gore did: it allowed the reactionaries to get close enough to steal it.

The volume of self-pity and vengeance simmering around these parts is quite a sight to behold.

Rest assured: regardless what he does, it won't be enough, and if Obama can't pull off the victory that so many here now see as inevitable, he'll be vilified to no end.

43. I think the problem with being a sore loser is the amount of fault finding the loser finds
Maybe it won't be enough for the winner to be gracious in accommodating the loser.

Lord only knows, what will qualify as being a gracious winner means to the loser?

61. Good for her
She deserves it. I hope she will make good on her word to "work her heart out" to help get a Democrat elected, but she deserves some rest first!

I have been impressed with some of the steps she has taken behind the scenes though to encourage her delegates and donors to support Obama. I did not think she was genuine in her commitment to getting a Democrat elected even if it's not her, but so far I have been happy with what I have seen and if she campaigns hard for him she just might convince me. And then I'd be more likely to support her for the nomination in 2012 if Obama loses, though I certainly hope and pray that it does not come to that.
