Lunatic Groups Plan Vigils At Dem Convention

DENVER (AP) ― Anti-abortion groups say they plan several prayer vigils during the Democratic National Convention to protest what they call Sen. Barack Obama's "radical" views on the issue.

The groups said Wednesday their main event will be encircling the convention site with up to 1,000 demonstrators who will kneel and pray for an end to abortions. They plan to leave roses on the sidewalk outside the arena.

The convention will be held at the Pepsi Center from Aug. 25 to Aug. 28.

Two anti-abortion groups had threatened to sue the city over what they believed was a holdup in issuing protest permits. They backed off after Denver officials said permits would be awarded in March.
