Well, this will be interesting. I guess we're going to find out how racist
this country is. I think of Obama as a leader and a candidate. I don't think black or white or anything in between. I like to think that my country has made some progress since the struggles of the 50's and the 60's. But maybe I'm a latte drinking librul and I have glorified this. I think we are all going to find out in November. There will be a picture of the USA and I hope it won't be an ugly one. I admire the Obamas' bravery in being out there as the test case. I hope we can all overcome the 25% haters. In a way, I'm afraid to find out but it will be a necessary lesson.

1. If you think its bad now
wait until he officially becomes the nominee. The true bigots will come out then.

2. well, what's that they say? "Sunshine is the best disinfectant?"
and racism is something that needs to be eradicated.

I agree Raven- I admire the Obamas.
And look forward to having them in our house.

3. It's already been very interesting so far. I've been shocked at how acceptable overt racism is
among Democrats. It's been a very disappointing experience but it's also been very encouraging to watch the huge chorus of people who condemn it and drive the racists away.

We'll overcome the 25% haters. We have no choice.

4. It will be interesting.
Polls may not be that accurate because there will certainly be a proportion of the electorate who would not openly state it but will vote their prejudice once in the box. I hope that I am wrong.

6. Actually, most who won't vote for Obama because of the
melanin content of skin won't hesitate to say so. The Dem Primaries justified that. There was no mythological "Bradley Effect"...as the polls attested.

5. Obama will win, but expect it to be very close.
The Bradley effect is a real phenomenon and as much as I'd like to think our country has progressed, there are still a lot of racist idiots here (see: Harriet Christian), not to mention the "lesser" racists who make up excuses like "He's a Muslim" or "His middle name is Hussein" because they know being an open racist isn't popular here.

That being said, the record number of Democrats and young voters this year will push Obama over the top. I would be pleasantly surprised if it was a landslide, though.

7. When did the "Bradley Effect" manifest itself in the Dem primaries?
Seem like folks were pretty straight out there with their racism to me. In fact, we heard it loud and clear.
