2. I've seen a couple...
...of bad pics of Obama, but it's usually because of the lighting. Everybody takes a bad pic once in a while.

Such a nice looking young family. I'm looking forward to them being the face of the United States to the world.

3. Yeah, there are some bad ones out there, and I'm sure the corporate
media will be digging them up and using them in the Fall, such as the one of Obama smoking, hardly one of his better pictures. Using unflattering pictures is an old tactic, and there is no reason to think this campaign season will prove the exception. The corporate media will be working overtime for the Repubs.

5. As I recall, it did look darkened and may have been. Suprise. Suprise.
Edited on Sat Jun-21-08 09:13 AM by Benhurst
But photoshopped as to his smoking? I don't know. He is a smoker who is trying to quit. I'm sure there are many photographs out there of him smoking. And the corporate media will use whatever it thinks is unflattering once the campaign starts. It's an old trick. The late Henry Luce of Time Magazine infamy was a master of the photographic smear.

7. Yes, it was proven here at DU to be a photoshop
The one that was posted here and everywhere. The original photo was found and compared. As far as real photos of his smoking, which I haven't seen any of, if they are out there, it's no secret he's been a smoker. Anyway, it's no big scandal to smoke and someone who is stopping it gets sympathy and admiration, not scorn. There are a whole lot of smokers and ex-smokers in the general population. This goes nowhere, in my opinion.

12. people are expecting a Messiah- anything less than
that and he's "just another politican"-

Funny, how many of us who've been accused of being cult followers- of seeing Obama as a "god" are more realistic, and grounded than those who were so anxious to call US the deluded ones.

Obama is an imperfect human being- but, he is by FAR the best person for the job that we have to choose from.

peace~

18. You've had a thread locked and
and a sub thread removed talkin' smears on Obama and here you are again taking a big ol' chimp dump on a postive Obama thread, chimpymustgo.

I'm sick of your hypocritical, negative Obama posts in the Presidential General Election threads. You will be held accountable.

"I see a lot of "concern" around here and if its legit then I have no problem with it,but I think much of this "concern" is more about trying to make us 2nd guess our choice and undermine the spirit of the movement behind him".

17. I'm not. I always feel sorry for the children who are put in that fishbowl.

I even tried to cut some slack for the Bush twins, as difficult as that was and is.

Being the child of a celebrity is difficult enough; but even Brad Pitt and
Angelina Jolie are better situated to shelter their children than is a sitting president.

25. Yeah, that photo is lethal.
Completely dangerous. Of course I always recognized that he was a handsome man, but that photo? Wow. Just wow.

I don't know if the White House can handle the level of hotness he and Michelle are going to bring.

(Sorry - I find this kind of stuff - obligatory though it is - really creepy).

Ok - so I guess from an electability pov I am glad Michelle Obama is photogenic and the kids are appealing. But what if they weren't?

I wish we could all grow up.
