23 years and having a father and grand father who were admirals and he couldn't achieve that position. In all that time, and despite all the advantages of having a powerful father, he was never given a significant command. If he wasn't good enough to be given a position of leadership/management in the Navy, why make him President?

And he was even a POW for 5 years!!!
And he STILL didn't make it to become an admiral. What was his rank when he left the NAVY?

2. He left a captain, it was clear he wouldn't make Admiral
but someone of his character would do well in politics.

3. Because the Constitution of the United States
does not require it. Making him President is up to the people of the United States.
