I just got back from hocking my guitar. I walked the three miles home to save the round trip bus fare (you'll be happy to know that I passed at least six Obama yard and store signs). I'm going to see about qualifying for a food pantry and utility assistance on Monday. Keeping my internet on is far from a indulgence--it helps me get my resume out, and has it resulted in two job promising leads. My landlord's been a saint, but I'm afraid to open my door because there may be an eviction notice taped to it.

There's a mailing piece from the Obama campaign sitting on my table. It says, "Dear Barack, I agree! We are the ones we've been waiting for...we are the change we seek." Hopefully I'll have an income by the end of the week, and I'll be able to look back on all this and actually enjoy the irony of not being able to be one of Obama's "little people donors" just when he needed me most.
